| Hi, you know we also have two hours with our youth this coming sunday as it april's fool. What we are planning to do is an instant talent show. We are gonna write on small paper things that they will do. They have to be creative because immediately you read what your paper says, you do that. It will range from reciting a poem from a topic you don't know, to singing a song on a two lines phrase you don't know. But I'm open to other ideas as well as to what other activities can we add on the ones we have.
Not that we loved Him, but HE Loved us first. |

| | How about a Video Scavenger Hunt asking them to get video of them doing a list of foolish things. Followed by a short study about Proverbs? Just off the top of the head. |

| | Quick update on the April Fools Day lesson. The kids loved it! We combine both the Junior and Senior High students. Even the SH teacher joined us and was blessed! My notes included a call to repentance and living as "fools for Christ" rather than "wise for the world". I could sense how the Holy Spirit ministered to their lives (including mine), especially when I told them that not falling into sexual temptation was the wisest thing they can do even if their peers think they were fools! If you haven't done the lesson and would like a copy of my notes along with the presentation email me and I will be glad to share it with you. The lesson can be done at any time. After all, it's not only on April Fools Day that we are called to "be careful how [we] live. Not like fools, but like those who are wise." –Eph. 5:15

| | I adapted Pastor Joes' concept on APril Fools day and did this: APRIL FOOLS RACE: goofy, silly, zany: the kids were instructed to make it weird and get across the finish line: even the stone faced senior high kids were goof balls. GROUP SKITS: taking some references from Pastor Joes PPT; the kids were divided up into teams; they selected their bible reference OR common phrase (only fools rush in; a fool and his money is soon parted, etc...) and had to act it out. the other teams had to guess what the prase or reference was. pretty funny! WISDOM versus FOOLISH: the bible showdown. bibles were distributed; several bible references were researched and discussed. posters of WISE versus FOOLISH attitudes, activities, ideas were outlined..... good source for discussion for the 11-13 year olds. |
