Pati,

What program are you using? You need to delete the white background and save them as transparent .gif files. I do that easily on Photoshop. I can send you the transparent .gif files if you have trouble doing it.

And for anyone else that wants them Peggy has posted them on the board.  http://forums.group.com/Topic5406-48-4.aspx on page 3 is Chadder and the others are downloadable on page 4 of that thread (March 10 and 12 posting dates)

Melodie (2/17/2007)
I just had an idea!  I'm going to make a bonus Chadder trading card for VBS.  I may give those out to all the kids who attend the Family Night closing program.  I think the kids would enjoy the extra one.

We are doing the same with the back being a "closing remark" about the week.  Howdy is going to be the "welcome to vbs" card given at the Round Up.  I'm so excited!

I have tried to download Peggy's files but instead of simply a .gif file, my computer will only let me save it as a .mht file (a web page).  Anyone have any help to offer?

Thanks,

Cindy

I used those pouches last year for Fiesta.  I used colorful foam and it worked well.  It just took some time threading the lace through- some kids were fast and some were much slower.  Some could not finish in the 20 minute time period.  This made us have to finish some of them for the kids.  Oh, and l do remember that hole punching all those was sooooo time consuming when I was preparing them.  You have to use a smaller hole punch size (1/8 I believe) and they have to be lined up just right so that the 2 sides can be put together.

Here a picture of one of them but I don't have one that we added fiesta stickers and name tag on them. The kids loved decorating them.

Last year I did buddy cards also.  I made a lot of them and it didn't cost much at all.  I huge box of business cards at Sam's (you can get like 1,000 for $5.00).  Then I put the character and name on one side and the verse on the other side.  Then I laminated them.  Lamination pouches for business cards are very reasonable at Wal-mart.  I think you can get 50 for $1.39.  The kids loved them laminated.  I plan to do the same this year too.  Here's a picture of one of the cards.  I did one for each day and they had 5 buddy cards to put in there pouch.

I'm new to all this, do they take the Bible Buddy trading cards home each night or do they keep them in the pouch to take home at the end?

Thanks!

Holly
