| | We had our Bead Mania party last night and it went great! I thought I'd share some of our experiences. We had 9 women there, and that was a good size group. Any more, and we would've needed 2 tables, which would've cut down on the fellowship opportunities. We started at 7:00 and people didn't leave until 10:00 because they were enjoying talking so much. The conversation questions were great. If I ever do this again, though, I'll do it differently. We had everyone choose a bead they liked. 5 of the women chose blue, so that question keep getting answered over and over, and it wasn't the greatest question. Three more people thought they chose pink, but it turned out to be purple. (I'll get to that in a minute.) Next time, I'd put one of each color in a dish and have everyone pick from there instead of just picking what they want. That would give a bigger variety of responses. No one chose clear, and that was one of the better questions. We didn't have the greatest light at our party. The hostess just had an overhead chandelier at the dining room table. You'll definitely want better light than that. It was almost impossible to distinguish between the pink and clear. The purple beads really aren't purple, but are a medium pink. I was not happy with the quality of the memory wire. (Sorry, Group.) It was very thin and once you got the beads on it, the weight of them pulled the bracelet open too much . . . in some cases, the ends no longer overlapped. I would suggest spending a couple extra bucks and going to your local craft supply store to buy some thicker memory wire. It's very inexpensive. All in all, it was a good experience. There were several women there who are very young/new and haven't done anything social at church. They seemed to have a great time and they all showed up for worship this morning. When they realized that Bead Mania was something I'd bought, and not thought up on my own, they were interested in the other titles. When I mentioned Chocolate Boutique, they all went, "Oooh . . . chocolate!" Guess we'll try that one next!

| Thanks for sharing, Amy! My daughter is in a Junior High small group, who used Bead Mania two weeks ago. The girls loved it! AND, since the facilitator is new to Junior High ministry, she loved the ease of planning and facilitating it

| Thanks, Amy! I really appreciate the feedback...when I had someone try it out with a group fo Junior High girls (who loved it!), she said the same thing about the colors and questions I've used the Chocolate Boutique kit and love it! Another favorite is Dinner Around the World! Here's an idea for a follow up to Chocolate Boutique...for those women who want to dig a little deeper, you can have a six week study with the same theme using Simply Relevant: Chocolate Boutique! The group of women I studies this with LOVED it!!!
