| Avalanche ranch has actually helped my daughter deal with her fear of monsters!
I led Chadder this year and I happened to find some stuffed animals at Toys R Us to serve as Buc, Shadow, and Boss. I borrowed an eagle from my mom, and a buffalo from one of the kids attending our VBS. During the preschool group and one of the crews that was consisted entirely of 6 year olds (yes, I know that is a bad idea), we used the stuffed animals to reinforce the day's Bible point. Each child would greet the animal, tell the animal his/her name, tell the animal the day's Bible point. "Hi, Buc. I'm Alex, and God is real! Wah-hoo!" The kids loved doing this and it helped them learn the day's Bible point.
Buc, Shadow, and Boss came home with me after VBS. A couple of nights after VBS my daughter was having trouble going to sleep because she was scared of monsters. I asked her if it would help her if I brought Shadow in to remind her that, "God is with us." and He protects us from monsters. She liked that idea and now insists that Shadow's Bible point is, "God is with us when we are scared." A couple of weeks later, Shadow is continuing to help her not be afraid of monsters because he reminds her that God is with her. Thanks for putting together such a great program, Group! |

| That's great Christi. I'm glad Avalanche Ranch is helping her face her fear of monsters! That stuffed animal idea is great! Too bad we can't do that for Power Lab. Maybe for VBS 2009. God Bless, Josh T. in Ohio

| | I love the story. I shared your story and the pastor's wife shared with me about her granddaughter. She is normally really shy. Well she open up at vbs and became a starr. she now wants to sing all the songs and dances to them all. Its a wild ride is her favorite song . When it says all our friends will be there . She says all the fessafeeters instead . She say no grandma I am right its all the fessafeeters. group you have done a awesome job on creating a special growth in the children you reach. God bless Doreen

| | Great news Christi! Whatever works; right?? PS, I don't think it's a bad idea keeping ages together....what ever works for your church. I am glad your daughter is sleeping better...maybe I should get a shadow? Blessings,
