"We had such a great time with this lesson in our large group time. The kids were completely captivated by the DVD footage of the cave and even asked to see it again. Many of them have been on a tour of a cave so it started some great sharing.
We then did the activity where you read a book and stop once you get to the climax of the story....what an effective way to present the bible point! They gasped when I shut the book before finishing. I couldn't believe that I had the full attention of 20 kids and about 8 adults....we were in a big huddle around the book and just had a great time. It brought tears to my eyes to see how well they all responded. Great job Group! I definitely want to use that type of activity again." ~CindyinPA
And another...
"My kids loved the video too. We also have pictures of real cave formations on our entry wall that I had downloaded from the web site of a cave in Texas.
I didn't do the storybook activity, we did the one where you drew on hearts and then put them all on posterboard. When asked what's different between the book we made and God's book, the answer was "The Bible has a lot more stuff in it!" ~dcrockett
"Our kids loved this session as well. We made up an area that have tunnels for a cave and put paper rocks (some with the verses) all around the walls where the kids had to use a flashlight to find them when the lights were turned out. They loved the video as well." ~Dave Brodzinski
At the center of the noodle ball, you should be able to feel a hard object inside. If you push down on the top, (the side that is attached to the string for your finger) you’ll hear a clicking sound which means you’re turning the lights on. If you push the button again, it will turn the light off. I hope that helps.
