I wanted to share some ideas from our 'old' forum, so those looking for decorating ideas for the Spelunkers module would have them!

One church shared that they "turned our classroom into a cave! At the doorway, the students are greeted by strips of "caution" tape hung like a ribbon curtain. We darkened the windows with black dollar store plastic tablecloths. Stapled to the opposite wall is builder's brown paper from Home Depot, which we gave a light coat of leftover fleckstone spray paint. As we stapled it to the drywall, we stuffed newsprint inside in various places to give it a lumpy appearance. The old piano and several small tables are covered in the brown paper and also tan paper tarp from Home Depot. We even covered the TV and DVD player, leaving only a cut out for the screen and disk tray, so it looks like we're watching the video on a rock formation. The most fun thing we did was NOT put the Christmas tree away, but wrapped it in paper tarp to be a stalegmite! I wish there was a way to affix a stalactite to the ceiling, but it works without it anyway! The final touch was to not use the regular lighting, but clamp up several shop lights - those light bulbs in cages - and that gives the feel of the cave. The kids and adults love it! Some of the boys are trying really hard to figure out how we did it - especially the stalegmite! But we won't let them touch."
