We are taking the our youth group on a spiritual retreat in Feb. We want to have a late night devotion on the beach. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do? We want this time to be an opprotunity for the teens to bond and to have experience emotionally the love of Christ. We have both middle and high school age youth attending. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

How about something about the time when Jesus appeared to his disciples on a beach after His resurrection?    John 21: 1 - 14        Have a fire to cook fresh fish and bring some bread?

You could do something with candles and a lesson on witnessing/being a light in a dark world. It would depend on how windy it is though. I definately like the idea with a lesson on Jesus and His disciples and something with a sea.

The lesson on Jesus would be very cool. You could also emphasis when He walked on the water and how He calms the storms in our lives when they seem unending.

There is also the fact of the sea of forgetfulness. When He casts our sins into the depths of the sea. You can illustrate this but having the students write a particular sin that constantly drags them down and at the commitment time throw it in the sea.
