| I am going to start in March and then start having meetings in April. We split the meetings up and have like crew leaders, snacks and games one week, then another week have the rest of the volunteers so we can spend more one on one time with them. We have one meeting a mth per group then we have a group meeting a week before VBS for everyone and go over Day 1 to let them know what to expect. Our VBS is the last week in July.

| | I have many repeats from previous years which makes it a tad easier to recruit. I am currently recruiting site leaders for the open slots and will recruit crew leaders later in the spring. We do VBS the last week in July. I do not hold regular mass meetings with my people. I do 1-on-1 meetings with my site leaders and 1 crew leader meeting to revue policies and highlight new things they may encounter. I do not reveal what my crew leaders will experience each day for they like to be surprised as they rotate. I find Group's VBS's incredibly easy to recruit for and for people to readily fall into a slot and catch on to what they are to do. |

| | My volunteers like to know what's going on. They like to know what to expect so they can prepare for the unexpected...lol. It is crazy it is already March (pretty much)...so much to do!

| As soon as I got the kit in Dec I started asking for prayer for the VBS and asking for volunteers. I ask every Sunday morning and now I am going to people to helped last year and asking if they would like to help again this year. Our VBS is in late July but I start recruiting as soon as possible. I have most of my leader positions filled and am just filling in and getting people assigned for crew leaders.

| Evelyn...Last year I had the whole Sunday PM service to introduce VBS. This year since it is my 2nd year directing, I don't think I need the whole hour. What I did and will do is make power point slides introducing our VBS. Then I go through them and introduce the Bible points etc, but mostly I will reiieterate my vision and goals for our VBS. I will go over the staffing that we need. I will introduce needs, such as water bottles etc...and prayer items...introduce our web toy box and our VBS blog. Then afterwards, I am doing a dessert bar for anyone that comes over and fills out a volunteer registration form. I have a very basic info packet and a form for volunteers to fill out. Volunteers can also sign up to order their Power Lab gear (shirts etc...). Every volunteer will recieve a small thank you gift and then we will all eat lots of chocolate and get powered up! Last year I did a dinner, but this year decided to scale down and I have my help team making desserts to donate for the night. Dessert is what people really want anyways, right! I was very pleased last year with the results. I got 95% of my volunteers that night and it really got everyone excited about the theme. Oh, and I also will do 3 of the songs with the congregation. It's a good night, and I highly recommend doing it if you have the oppurtunity!

| Throughout the month of March I will be keeping in close contact with the Preschool Director. We'll be discussing how many volunteers we'll each need and figure out how to go about recruiting.
On April 13 after church, we'll be having a meeting. We'll talk about supplies that need to be ordered, and odds and ends. I'll show a clip that came with the DVD, and other stuff.

| | Our VBS will be mid June. I have been meeting with the lady who is helping me in the VBS, and we will put it in the bulletin this Sunday asking for volunteers. We will probably have our first meeting in April |
