| | As the calendar flips and the days draw nearer I can only imagine the excitement, anticipation, and even frustration that comes along with preparing for VBS. Indeed we have heard how awesome this program promises to be and we can't help but inundate our minds with ideas and plans. For those who see this Science theme as a great opportunity to share the wonders of God (like me) the creativity just bubbles up as each day goes by. For those who thought that it wouldn't be as interesting but have decided to give it try you only needed to come visit us here and realize that there is sooooo much you can actually accomplish. Yet, in the midst of all the enthusiasm let us remain humble and open to what God really wants to do in us and through us. This VBS will only be filled with POWER as we ourselves are filled with the power of God's Holy Spirit. For it is only through his Spirit that we can accomplish his plan and purpose for our lives and the lives of the children we will be ministering to (Zech. 4:6). My prayer is that we remember to take a break every now and then to pray. To examine our hearts and make sure we are connected with THE power source, Jesus! Only then can his miraculous power truly flow freely as we engage young and old in worship and the bible truths they will learn through games, crafts, snacks and more. May you, your staff and every participant experience the greatest miracle of all , the live changing power of Jesus' love! I commit myself to pray for every VBS director and leader. I pray that God fill you with a greater passion for him and for the ministry he has entrusted to you. May your hearts continually bubble up with joy, fizz with excitement, ooze with peace and explode with love!

We do get so excited in the planning and what else can we do that we need to pause and ask God is this your plan? We need to Praise Him. Group gives us the basics for a good VBS program but God gives us the POWER to make it a great program.
God has truly blessed you, PJ, and I pray that He continutes to shower His blessings on you and your ministry. You know just when we need encourgement.

| | I second the motion. I need to pause and remember the source of POWER especially when things are not happening my way. I can easily be consumed with preparing and even be overwhelmed with all of these things. God enables me to do all things thru Christ who strengthens me. Humility and fear of the Lord is definitely the word for me when I started working VBS this year. Whatever creativity and ideas that I am coming up with, I owe it to Him. I am already experiencing a miracle -seeing myself handling all the details and even getting excited to do the program. I pray that the fire that God has ignited in me will be passed down to my station leaders and they will just be awaken with the power of the Holy Spirit. I thank God for this opportunity to be part of this big event. It is an exciting, faith-building, character molding experience! Group forum just gave me a bigger perspective and widens my world that God's family is not just my church. Takes away any self-centeredness or exclusivity. Thanks PJ!
