I need you all to pray . At 1.29 in the morning our time which is the after noon their time.  I got an email why'll sleeping my husbands brother who is with them went to the hospital. He has been feeling rather poorly the last few days . His stomach.  My husband ask me to pray.  So I am asking all my friends to pray too . He was taken to the hospital after the ceremony, They had a small amout of time to rest before having to go to the next even .  The Dinner part .

I know he will be in good hands. My husband says they have state of the art equipment at the hospital which they had a tour of earlier in the week.  Plus I think you would get great care by the place you Great Great grandfather help start .

Thank you all for praying

God bless

Just an update. My husbands brother is doing better.  He got some medication for his stomach problem as well as rehydrated.  He was not drinking enough. So he got rather sick.

My husband and his family were taken to the DMZ zone between North and South Korea.  Fun part is they got to stay with a Korean military family. They have twin girls and they are very shy.  They taught them how to make some traditional. Korean food.

The trip is about to wind down and they will be heading home soon. Please pray for traveling. Especailly with all the flight problems lately. Yes he is traveling and his family is with american airlines.  When they get to the states.

Thank you all for your prayers.

Lot has happen here at home too. Please pray for my Son James. He was playing indoor flag foot ball. It was raining not this sunday  but the sunday before.  He got Kneed into the right thigh.  IT went into a spasam and swelled up really big.  Like a trampoline is what the doctor described how tight it was. Or in parts still is. The brusing will go down his  Whole leg. Probably some torn muscles as well in it.   Fun stuff.  Lot of small emotional things going on. Missing a love one as well.

Design my molecube as well so need to sent you all a picture.

Will be taking it with a sharper camera.

God bless

Doreen

I guess the hardest part to really take in is the “why”.  We have heard stories about Dr Avison for the last 40+ years.  To us, he was more of an anecdote in our family tree – sort of like knowing that we have an ancestor that signed the Declaration of Independence, or who came over on the Mayflower.  It’s neat history, but it doesn’t make us any more special than anyone else.  Here, though, we have heard more stories than anyone can remember about how Dr Avison changed the course of history for Korea.  He helped push for equality among all social status level.  He helped protect the last king of Korea, both medically and physically.  He helped out with the first president of Korea.  He helped get Korea through the Japanese occupation leading up to World War II.  He has helped inspire many missionaries from Korea.  He inspires even non-Christians in that he left the comfort of his own country to come to a land he knew little about and serve a people he knew little about.  You don’t find much about him on the internet, but I understand that he is mentioned in Korean school texts (especially here at laceName w:st="on">YonseilaceName> laceType w:st="on">UniversitylaceType>).  In our culture, we just don’t see the same aspect of why he was so important.  We also can’t fully comprehend why, as his descendents, we are given such honor.  No matter how hard we try, we just can’t understand or get used to this kind of treatment.

I guess the other thing that hit me before coming, but is even more ingrained now, is how much the work of one man, along with those around him, can have such an impact on generations to come.  The people who have talked to us have basically said that without the work of Dr Avison, Korea would not be where it is today and may not even exist today – or at least not as a free nation.  It kind of makes you wonder how much of an impact we are having on future generations right now.  Are we doing something that will hurt or help generations to come; or are we having no impact whatsoever?  I know that God uses us for His purpose, even if our name never appears on a plaque or if we never have a building named after us, but we really need to examine our lives to see if we are making ourselves available to Him.

 HI every one

The above was written by my husband .

He is on his way home know but is so overwelmed they have been given the royal treatment in Korean.  Recieve a number of gifts.  Had a parade in there honor.  offical photographs.  I wanted to share this comment with you all.  I can't wait to have him home and here more and see the treasures they recieved.   My husband says We under counted on how many gifts he needed to take with him .  They ran out the 3 day there.  Gifts kept coming . Need a whole suitcase full of gifts to bring.  Didn't know.
We will have to send at special package as a thankyou back to them  They paid for the entire stay there plus food.

God bless

Doreen
