| My son plays on the local soccer league. And we played a game last Saturday against a team that treated our team awful. These children are 4,5,6 and love to play the game. The team we played against came in matching outfits with matching skull caps on their heads. The team had four coaches at goal and 2 in the field. The kids on the opposing team elbowed are kids and when our kids were approaching the goal their coach would get in front of our kids. And my little boy said it was very intimidating with the four coaches at the goal. My father (and I am not defending him) did say a few things to this affect during the game. But he is like most people -you don't mess with his only grandchild. Last season the coach of the other team was not allowed to coach due to these issues. But when we went to soccer practice last night-we find out they are filing a complaint against our coach and team-due to our competiveness-(we didn't even win) and my father's remarks. My dad wasn't at soccer practice-but our coach and his sister confronted me after practice and I left in tears. I want to file a formal complaint too but our coach will not allow it. My mom and dad are horrified-dad didn't mean any harm he was just being a protective grandparent. My phone rang all night with friends that are supportive. But my best friend (coach's wife) is not as supportive. The other bad thing is one of the mother's on the opposing side helps with VBS and I don't think she will help now. I just need to vent and have you keep me and my family in your prayers. My little boy loves to play soccer so I can't pull him out of the league even though it crossed my mind.

| Beth Miller (4/17/2008) ...The other bad thing is one of the mother's on the opposing side helps with VBS and I don't think she will help now. I just need to vent and have you keep me and my family in your prayers. My little boy loves to play soccer so I can't pull him out of the league even though it crossed my mind.I truly believe that this is all work of the enemy of our souls. Just commit it all to the Lord and don't let the devil have his way! His job is to bring trouble so he can discourage us and as a result thwart the plans God has for us and our VBS. Do not worry about the "what ifs". Your VBS' success does not depend on who will or will not volunteer. It is the Lord Jesus who will bring about a blessing and provide ALL that you need to have and incredible week! So wipe those tears, keep the enthusiasm, faith and hope, and remember we will be uplifting you in prayer. Let the Lord take care of all the mess and you concentrate on giving him your best! You will be of a greater impact to your son if you continue to encourage him on the team. I know it is hard, but with Jesus we can do ALL things!

| Thank you for those words of encouragement. It brought tears to my eyes to know that people are praying. I know that God will take care of me and my family and I am determined not to let the devil control this situation. Through prayer I will survive.

| | PJ, thanks so much for your encouragement, it really means a great deal to hear that again, i have been working on vbs quite a bit this past week with several meetings with key people and I too am feeling attacked by satan because of the impact we are going to have on the children and adults of our community, he has been throwing some stuff at me that has been frustrating and sad, but i have been turning it over the good Lord and realize that there is so much power in the name of Jesus through prayer and satan DOES NOT like it one bit. Beth, i too would like to encourage you, get on you knees and turn everything over to God, He does see the big picture and we need to be faithful and obedient and withstand the storm and let Jesus calm it for us. God Bless

| | I know what you go through! My son has played soccer for 7 years (he is now 12) and I have never seen a dirtier sport...and I mean dirty as in actions. What frustrates me is when disrespective play is encouraged. I have seen kids trip my son's team and the parents next to me cheer and say, "That's right! Do it again!". Seriously, it is a game, have fun. I have yet to see a game where there is so much yelled from the sidelines, foul play and overall vindictive actions. So I pray that this will all be resolved in a peaceful manner.

| Just an update. Everything is looking a little better as to my situation. My dad did not attend the game on Saturday which was a little sad for him. But we played on one field and the team we had such a problem with played on the other field and nothing was said. We actually saw one of the mothers of the other team yesterday and everything seemed fine. So maybe putting it in the Lord's hands worked. Through God all things are possible.
