I'm planning on doing a Children's sermon the end of May.  I need a little help.  I'm a newer Christian.  I think that's why I get more excited about VBS then the kids.  I learn with them.  If I get though the first one ok I would like to do one two weeks later to catch maybe a few more kids.  Any ideas would be great.

I have one main idea about showing them that they have the power too.  They have the power to bring others to Jesus and his love.  Not sure how to do it.  Thanks so much.

One of my favorite chilcren's sermon's as an adult...

Tub of water (so line the floor if it's carpeted with garbage bags so you don't destroy the carpet).

Three rocks - a small one, a medium one and a large one.

One ladder - optional

Essentially you will be showing how you can affect people by telling them about Jesus.  If you don't tell at all the little rock.  If you just simply do good things - the medium rock.  But the big rock is when you tell others and be good you can affect many people.

A really simple science trick, that our Children church just loved was very easy to do as well.  We cut open a diaper and took the stuffing out of it, not all of it just enough to fit into a small clear cup.  Then we started pouring water into it, I would turn it over and show the kids how it didn't spill out.  We filled up several cups of water and poured it in and it never did spilled out when I turned the cup over, it just kept soaking up the water.  I actually was doing a lesson on how God is big enough for everyone to bring their troubles to him, he is able to soak up a lot more than what we did.  But it could also be used to show that if one person speards the Gospel, it can touch the lives of many others.

Our VBS finale is on the Sunday after VBS.  We invite the children and their families back so the children can sing the songs and talk about the Bible points and scripture verses they learned throughout the week.  Then we do a potluck dinner afterwards.  It's a great way to introduce the families to our church.  I also do a children's message that day during the service and would LOVE it if Group would add a message to their starter kit!  What do you think Group?  It sounds like others are interested too!

Becin - the stuff in diapers can be purchased form Steve Spanglers web site or Hobby Lobby.I think any object lesson that does something would be a great lead in to Power Lab

as mentioned have something for them to visualize.  Something that ties the message.  Keep it short.

Great ideas...I'm planning to use these this Sunday.....

Gospel of John 17:1-11a

Jesus came to give eternal life to all of us – and he tells us in the gospel today that he came so that we could know God and know Jesus.  Now, besides knowing who they are they want us to know that God and Jesus love us so much.

In honor of our upcoming PowerLab Vacation Bible school I wanted to do a little experiment for you.  Here I have a cup (beaker) of material and I’m going to ask you to think of this material as Jesus’ love for you.  This cup of water is going to represent all of us.  Do you think Jesus love is big enough to hold and love all of us?  Let’s see.

Wow – Jesus love is big enough!

How about this cup of water?  Let’s say that this represents all of the people out in the pews – all of our families and church family.   Do you think Jesus is big enough for all of these people?   Let’s see.

Wow – Jesus love is big enough!

How about this cup of water?  Let’s say that this represents everyone else in the world.  Do you think Jesus has enough love left for all of those people?  Let’s see.

Wow – Jesus is awesome!

His love is big enough to love and to receive love for everyone!  He loves us so much and he wants us to share that great love and the message of His love with others.

Thanks for the great ideas to break open the gospel for all our kids!
