Hello,

I've got several large blacklights from a previous kids show. The kids can't get enough of it. They make a great addition to a lab even without any reactive paint!

it would work well in the cinema science and chadder rooms. you can turn the other lights off during the movie and have those lights on. It would also work while kids are eating their snacks.

PAINTS & BULBS: When buying paints, you must get "flourescent" or "black light reflective" paints. Being "neon" doesn't necessarily means it will glow under a blacklight. Also, walmart has 4ft bulbs fairly cheap. that will light up a room! in fact, just using the blacklight alone looks pretty cool.

PAINTING CARDBOARD: Paint a layer of cheap white paint UNDER your expensive reactive paints. this makes them brighter. Note: your white paint WILL NOT GLOW! Test your colors before you paint. some colors are MUCH brighter than others, and some look alike once glowing. also, if you outline in black, it helps make the distinction between colors.

ideas?

-painting a backdrop with 'toxic glowing goo'

-when Jesus gives sight to the blind man, you could flip the switch (along with the reactor pens in cinema science?)

any other ideas?

thanks

well, in answer to myself...

I just saw blacklight reactive slime

Atomic Slime

at www.SteveSpanglerScience.com as well as

blacklight reactive solution that can be mixed with water to make blacklight reactive toxic waste and such..

Atomic Glow

I wonder if you can mix the solution with "home made" borax/glue slime. anyone tried this? MUCH CHEAPER, if it works (and isn't actually toxic).

anything else?

We are also using blacklights with Chadder. I also have the reactive solution from Steve Spangler. I am really excited how it will give Chadder such a cool effect. We still  have a little bit of time to figure out what else were doing.

I just want to send out a warning DO NOT order the solution that make your water glow from glow bottles.com. I placed an order with them over a month ago and have never received my items. The site never responded to my e-mails so I had to go through Pay Pal to register a complaint and get my money back.

I purchased from them within that same time frame and received everything extremely promptly with no trouble.

Remember, you can make your own glow solution with neon colored markers (highlighters) I tried it with a few highlighters I bought at the Dollar store and they worked PERFECTLY! Check out the "How To video" at Dr. Blindstein's Lab.

Partnering with parents to "TRAIN" up our children in the way they should go!
