| | Does anyone have any good/cheap ideas for table centerpieces? I don't do a lot of decorating in the room where the kids have snack, so centerpieces really add a lot. I'll have 10-12 tables. Thanks

| Go to this thread link. Scroll down to the bottom. I made these for our kick off dinner a couple months back and plan on using them again on the tables. It was very inexpensive to do.

| Thanks Missy. Those are cute, but I don't have a Hobby Lobby where I live and haven't seen anything like what you used at the Michael's or AC Morre that I do have.

| Hi Allison,
I saw these pails at dollar tree. Is a store like that near you?
Have a great VBS program this year!

| Allison, I'm sorry...I know there are Hobby Lobby's in the Charlotte area, so I just assumed they were all over. I LOVE Hobby Lobby. I'm sad for you that you don't have one!

| We don't have a Hobby Lobby where I live either , but this is what I got to use with the cool sand pail idea...
I got the pails from Dollar Tree and then I ordered from Oriental Trading Company these:

as well as these:
)
to put in the pails. The stuff is on the way and I'm looking forward to seeing how it all goes together! |

| | Thanks everyone for your input. If Hobby Lobby is in Charlotte, maybe we will get one sometime (I'm in Chapel Hill, NC). I've read many posts from members speaking of Hobby Lobby and it sounds great. We have Michael's and AC Moore, which are pretty good, but it sounds like Hobby Lobby has a lot of things that those two don't carry. We do have Dollar Tree as well (several actually). Some of them are much better than others (organization wise). I've learned that not all of them carry the same things. Or maybe they do, but some are so junky you can't find anything. Thanks again,

| | I have several ideas. 1. Use large test tubes ( I found some with the paintball stuff at Fry Electronics). Have someone build test tube racks to fit these (great for a retired cabinet maker/woodworker in your church who wants to be involved but cannot be at VBS every day). Fill the tubes with the colors of the salvation book (use sand or tissue). 2. Beakers of all shapes and sizes in the center of the tables (sort of like what is pictured here):
