Hello!  We have just ended our Wednesday night program for this year (we don't meet in the summer).  I have been the Wed. night children's program coordinator for the past couple of years and we have used the Adventure Club series, which has gone well.  I just feel like it's the "same old thing" and am looking for something new and exciting!  I am starting to look at curriculum for next fall and am looking for suggestions.

We are a smaller church - we usually have around 35 children ages preschool through 6th grade.  About half of those children are from the community and don't have a home church.  We meet for 1 hr. each Wednesday night from 7:00 - 8:00 pm.  I have looked at Faith Weaver Friends and other Group curriculum...would love to hear your suggestions and ideas!   Thank you ~

Carol

For the elementary ages I'd recommend Hands On Bible Blitz... It works well with multi-age groups. The activities and Bible lessons connect with 5th graders as well as first graders. It would require one person to prepare the lesson and a few others to facilitate Blitz Teams of 5-6 children. It uses a large group/small group format, so it helps to have a room that would accommodate the entire group.

For preschool, I'd recommend Faithweaver Friends. The preschoolers will amaze you with their understanding of how the Bible story and Bible Point relate to their daily lives.
Big Big God is an alternative. It is written for 12-13 weeks, but each day's activities has enough for 2 lessons. We are using it for a one day a week Preschool summer camp.

Thanks, Lisa ~ We are currently using the Bible Blitz for our children's Sunday School curriculum.  Ideally, I would like to find something that would work for all of our Wed. night kids (preschool - 6th grade).  I know that's a challenge, but it is kind of the way we need to do it with such a small group.

Hi, Lisa ~ From what I hear, our kids love it also...I am not the SS director so don't have direct experience with it.  I am going to check further into Faithweaver Friends.  Thank you so much!

Funny--I've been using Faithweaver Friends now for 5 years and I'm tired of it and thinking of looking for something else. I may have to try Bible Blitz!
