| | Hello, http://drgeorge.org/index.php?area=index&page=lesson&lesson=0013 I just found this experiment and after reading the reason for the experiment. I really think this would be a great experiment to get people thinking and signing up to help with VBS this year. We are going to do the publicity skit from group and then I will preform this experiment after and use the explanations provided on the site to help people come forward that may be on the fence about volunteering. Hope this helps some of you and if you do use this idea, please post the response from your congregation. I really think this is perfect to get people to use their talents given by God in this awesome children's ministry we call VBS! Sorry, I really get excited and passionate about VBS and don't understand why the rest of the congregation aren't jumping to help children invite Christ into their hearts. God Bless and good luck to all,

| In the past, we have used skits to generate support, recruit and enroll children. The actors have a lot of fun, and the congregation really seem to enjoy it as well.

| | Probably too late for this now, but did you poll your volunteers (from previous years) to see how many were available for a morning VBS? At our church it would not work, since almost all of our congregation work during the day. We try to make it as convenient as we can. We also stress that this is a church outreach to the community and all of us are to fulfill the great commission. |
