Hey all-

Our preteen leaders went to a conference last weekend called "Elevate".  It was awesome and Group was greatly praised.  I was very convicted that as a Children's leader I'm not doing anything to reach out to the public schools.  So after going through the suggestions, we are going to start with a small step.

I have some of our senior adults making small bags of cookies to thank the teachers at the local public school.  I was wondering if anyone might have a creative thank you phrase we can attach.  Not looking for anything Biblical, just a simple thanks.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thank you so much!

Kate

Hi,

A few years ago our church thanked various public school teachers & workers with a small gift each month compiled during our Children's Church program.  Following are some of the ideas we used than.

September:  Pre K & K (8)  Microwave Popcorn - Popcorn is a little kernel that magnified it's calling…thanks for all you do to make a positive difference in children's lives.  We appreciate you!

October:  1st Grade (5)  Smartee Candy & little package of donuts - What a "Smartee"!
"Donut" forget that the circle of your influence will on go forever!  Thanks for all you do for kids!

November:  2nd Grade (6) Mounds Candy bars - Thanks!  You make a mound of difference in the lives of children!  You are appreciated!

January: 3rd Grade (5) Hot cocoa mix.  A cup of cheer to you today!  Giving you a warm treat in thanks for all the wonderful ways you warm the lives of the kids!  You are appreciated!

February: 4th Grade (6) Hot cocoa mix.  A cup of cheer to you today!  Giving you a warm treat in thanks for all the wonderful ways you warm the lives of the kids!  You are appreciated!

March: Music, Art, PE, Spanish, Resource, Title 1, AEA 6, Speech, Special Ed.  (18)
Peanuts & lifesavers - We're nuts about you!  Thanks for being a lifesaver for kids!  We appreciate you!

April:  Guidance Counselor, Nurse, Principal, Secretary, Librarian (11)  Animal Crackers & Energizer battery - This place would be a zoo without you!  Thanks for your endless energy!  We appreciate you!

May:  Bus Drivers, Cooks, Custodians (33) Hugs & Kisses - Sending hugs & kisses for everything you do!  Thanks for making a positive difference in children's lives!  We appreciate you!

"One hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in or the kind of car I drove; but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child."

ANGEL: Thank you for helping kids spread their wings by teaching them so many wonderful things!

Hope you find something useful from the above.

Blessings, Meg

There are several books that have sayings (such as the ones above).  Do an internet search on "teacher appreciation" and "volunteer appreciation." You will find lots of ideas.
