We did a nice service for Mothers' Day and gave gifts, and the women formed a choir, read the scriptures, prayers, ushering, etc. Very nice, but I'm thinking the men would probably like something simpler/shorter, and then a great lunch afterward. I always like to go with a theme, and some of my ideas are Heroes, Great Outdoors, Tools/Building. For all men, not just fathers.

What are you all planning, or have done in the past that was popular? Gift ideas would be appreciated, too. Thanks!

There is a company called CTA out there that we have ordered Father's Day gifts from before.  They are inexpensive and nice.  (I think it stand for Christian Tools of Affirmation?)

Thanks Peggy! There are some really nice gifts there - I especially like the mugs.

I was wondering if any of the activities from Heroes Unlimited (or isn't there a Heroes module for Living Inside Out?) would be adaptable for the service or the lunch? I thought hero sandwiches would be fun and relatively simple. And maybe some photo ops with life-sized Bible heroes and superheroes where the dads' faces would go on the heroes' bodies. I haven't seen either of those programs - maybe some of you who have done them could tell me if it would be worth trying to get some of the materials?

Any other ideas? There is still enough time to put something fun together.

Thanks!

I have HU at home, but I'll think about it and let you know!  It was more of a carnival sort of thing.  But you could set up some of the games and have family time.  I love the "Hero" Sandwich idea!  I think Dads would love that.  We did order blank paper masks from S&S and had kids decorate their own.  You could do something like that with families making superhero masks.
