So our church is really small and we are borrowing the curriculum from another church. so our youth group is cutting out all the stuff for crafts and putting alot of it together. we are inviting the people in the neighborhood surrounding the church so for new people we really want to make it stand out. so far all the decorating ideas i have (and ism not sure what all they have been able to borrow)

1. big beakers cut and painted out of poster board (about 8)
2 PowerLab sign to put on the sign in table
3. PowerLab sign and test tubes with daily point/verse
4. some of our youth are really artsy and if we don't get the buddy posters they have offered to draw them onto poster board , piant, and cut them out
5. along with the buddy posters we have a verse to put with them each day.

and thats about it. a couple green table cloths. We just want to make a good impression on the people who don't know the Lord (and even if they do) Who come into our church for the first time, we want them to come back.

We are in a gym/warehouse type of building. no stair ways, 3 class rooms, a gym-sized sanctuary where we will be spending almost all of the time. we do singing, crafts and snack in there. we have games out side in a grassy area while we are getting ready for snack, craft and then we do story time in only one of the class rooms. our church is only about 100 people in all parents, youth, kids, infants. so there's really not alot we have to decorate we just don't have the money and we are borrowing too. so any help is alot of help.

for our VBS we have it 5 days of the week and then we skip Sat. and have the kids and their families come back on Sunday!! so all i'm tring to say is i want it to really stand out!!

all help is GREATLY appreciated

We have a medium-sized church, and we're using MakeItMike's periodic table for one whole wall.  We are not doing anything but printing them out onto fluorescent paper and adhering them to the wall with tacky clay.  You can find GOBS of ideas from MakeItMike, as well as on PJ's Dr. Blindstein site.  Please visit them both.  They're amazing.  We're using fluorescent-colored posterboard dots to add some interest in areas where we don't have a lot or decor, like down stairwells, etc.  The posterboard can be found at most mega retailers or craft stores.  We're corivng our thin church windows with posterboard, and creating them into giant test tubes, and danging balloons out of them, and then from the ceiling so that it looks like they're bubbling.  Hope this helps.

Last Sunday we had about 50 people in church... we know small church. I really enjoy seeing and reading about what others are doing. Some have major support in staff and resources which we don't. I have been blessed w/ materials, ideas from you all, and help from God to have a very nice VBS program for the 100-75 kids that we have each year. Our program runs Monday thru Friday evenings and final program on Sunday morning. One big hit is a power point program w/ the week's pics of the kids and staff.

We also share are decorations w/ area churches year before last our props made it to 4 other churches and last year 3 different churches. I just ask that they pick up and return them to us. So you might check churches in the area to see if they will share... we have even received love offerings which helps w/ our program.

We do have a large church (space) and last year I built a covered wagon, and one church had to remove the front pew to allow room for it. This year I'm building a Lab Bench and a Control Center for the stage... you can check my hometown page for the current pics.
