Question of the day?  What type of check in system do you use on Sunday
mornings?  to check-in preschool?  elementary?  Do you like it?  What
was the cost?  and do you have a contact name or rep.?

Thanks!  I appreciate your input...

Hope ya'all are feelin good!!!

we use fellowship one...

Cost is per attendee basis / average...so does not preclude any size church.

Bonnie,

We use FellowshipOne. Like Denise, start up costs vary depending on the number of check-in kiosks you will need to purchase. We started using our system about 2 years ago years ago and have 8 kiosks in the children’s area (another 8 are in other parts of the building), but I cannot begin to tell you how much costs.  The main reason we use F1 vs. other solutions is that is integrated all the separate databases we use to have into one all-encompassing database.

The website is www.fellowshiptech.com and they can give you more info.

We like the system a lot. It does everything we want it to, plus much, much more. We also check in about 1500 kids each week and it can easily handle the load! We use mainly the barcode system It also tracks special needs like allergies and custody issues to help our volunteers.

Bonnie,

We use Parent Pager Plus. Cost varies depending on the number of check-in/out kiosks you utilize. We purchased our system six years ago and have sixteen kiosks, and it ran in the neighborhood of $60,000. That included all the equipment/maintenance. We do have a contact, which I’ll have to get for you from our IT Manager, so let me know if you’re interested. We do like the system very much, given our size and scope. It uses photo ID’s,  proximity cards and text pagers,  and we’re even going to attempt fingerprint readers as a trial for those who want to give it a go. Otherwise, the proximity cards are scanned as parents check kids in, but a family, regardless of size is checked in within a couple of seconds, with slips and nametags generated for each child. It also tracks special needs like allergies, as well as custody issues to help our Welcome Team and volunteers leaders keep current with every situation.

At first blush, it feels a bit fortress-like, but we are able to overcome that feeling with our personal customer service and commitment toward providing a safe environment for each child. When we first installed the system, people were a little taken aback; however, now we never get any negative comments, and it’s proven to be well-received. We have well over 1200 kids who come through here on a weekly basis, and it just became impossible to know everyone.

Hope that helps!

Danise

We use ASC CheckPoint for preschool and elementary. Not in love with it. But ACS is what our big church uses.

There is little customization of the kiosk screens and it's horrible for "two hour" churches.

We are a church that sees around 60 kids during Sunday School and Children's church, so for our church we just can't afford a big system right now.  What we have done, since we are growing and are seeing lots of new faces, is start using Id bands where parents and kids each have a band with a matching number.  While we know pretty much all the kids and their families we want to be proactive and prepared each time we have a new family.  At first it was time consuming but now it's going pretty smoothly and the feed back has been good, especially from the parents that are nervous about leaving their children with strangers!!!! A cost effective way to keep kids safe!!
