I have been working on this mural for about almost two year.

I started with one friend helping now we have one more.

WE only paint on Thursdays So No too bad on  progress .

I am wanting to due more time in Aug.  Here are some photos .

WE call this the walls of Patience. Painting on brick is not as easy as it looks.

Especially when it is in a basement.

\

In this picture is the ruffed in Raccoon and snake . Raccoon is done now need to take pictures of him . More plant life is being added.  and background shading has been added.

there is much more to come on this wall. Its suppose to go on both sides of the hall way.

The doors at the end we want to paint a day of rest .
God bless
Doreen

The design is my own design . We get animal out lines and use an overhead projector to put them on the wall  the size we are looking for.  The plants are all free hand and water etc.  Just the birds and animals are projected.  We are still working hard on the mural . The garden is starting to come alive.  I have been told its a great hit with the kids. That they play strobing animals turning on and off the lights. It helps the babys stop crying .

God bless

Our Brick wall we call the wall of Patience.  You have to Wait till it Drys some before you blend the next layer . In an ideal situations we would of smooth the whole wall but that would of cost allot of money. So we are working with the wall. We get some cool effects and learn lots of patience.  Funny how God adds leasons in things we do.

God bless

Back in my 2nd year of teaching elementary school, I did a mural of Dr. Seuss characters for our primary hallway. I used acrylics on painted concrete walls. I found the acrylics were easier to manage and spread well on the uneven surface. What do you use?

We are using acrylic paints . The problem its in a basement .  IF the wall is too cold you have problems of the paint clumping on you plate.  If its too warm it drys quickly which we like but most of the time its a humit down there and it plays on the paint as well. Its working but we need lots of patience.

God bless

I wasn't going to reply, but my 2 year old was just looking over my shoulder.  He said, "Uh!  What's dat?"  Then I scrolled down & he told me all of the animals he saw (ok...he thought the fox was a tiger, we're working on it )

Great job on your mural!  It looks beautiful!  We are in the beginning planning stages of doing our nursery.  We want to go with a water theme.  All of our kid's programs will have that.  Any ideas on what to do with our walls?  We have thought about doing the water based Bible stories (Noah, Jonah, etc.)  Still not sure though.
