I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I emailed Hobby Lobby and this is their reply:

"Our plans for 2008 are to open 25 additional stores within our operating area (a 1,000-mile radius of Oklahoma City, OK).  Unfortunately, California is still outside of our operating area.

Please share with your daughter that she can visit the online catalog provided by our affiliate, Crafts, Etc! where they offer basic hobby and craft items.  A link to the Crafts, Etc! catalog may be found on the Hobby Lobby homepage at www.hobbylobby.com or by going directly to the catalog site at www.craftsetc.com.  Their extensive selection of items can be ordered online and delivered by mail.  Seasonal merchandise, fabric and many home decor items are not available to view or purchase online."

--------------------

So - no stores in CA. I knew their policy was to stay within 1,00 miles of their home base. BTW - if you have not read the book "More than a Hobby," the story of Hobby Lobby, it is a good read. The company is based on Christian principles (which is why they are closed on Sunday)and you have to admire what they do.

Shipping is free with orders over $25.  I am also in Illinois and there was no sales tax added either.

Hobby Lobby just opened on Monday (14th) here in Mesa, AZ.  There is also a 2nd store opening in Mesa later this year.  I went today for the very first time...wonderful.  I was so burnt out on the items I've looked at over and over at Michaels, that this was a huge inspiration.  I am glad that they are finally here.

Blessings!

For those of you ordering the bulb jars, I recommend the bigger size.  It's much closer to a real light bulb.
