| | Has anyone done the research on how many M&M's are in a bag? or how many tablespoons of frosting in the store boughten container? I need to do this to come up with our donation requests- but thought if someone might be willing to share- it would save me the time. If not I will share so others can benefit. |

| I can't believe this question was asked because I did!! I bought the m&m's for the cookies & was telling our "kitchen queen" - she said she hoped there were enough m&m's. Because I'd purchased the 56 oz. bag at Sam's, I was pretty sure there was more than enough, but thought I'd check to get a better idea. There are 38 1/4 cup servings in that size bag, so I scooped out a 1/4 of a cup & counted out 52 m&m's. I'm sure that would be "give or take a few"! Anyhow, 38 X 52 = 1976. Unless you have a REALLY big VBS, that should be plenty for the eyes & nose on the cookies! (Unless your husband dives into the bag before you can stop him as mine would have liked to have done.) Hope this helps!

| Whoops, sorry - I was so amused by the m&m question because I did count them, I didn't even notice you'd asked about the frosting, too. I just checked in my pantry & one can says there are 24 tablespoons & another (the whipped kind) says 28. I don't think our kitchen crew even used a whole tablespoon on the cookie - it was a fairly thin layer, but the cookies were still delicious! Good luck!

| | I just use the supply calculator in the web toy box. I have never NOT had enough, but it has calculated too much of something in the past. |
