Does anyone have PL daily devotions for the leaders typed up?  We are meeting early before VBS starts (8:30am) every morning for announcements, devotions and prayer.  I am hoping that someone can help with a cool devotion.

thanks

There are some on pages 168-172 in the Power Lab Director Manual.

No offense intended to the writers but that is more of an activity than a devotion.  One of the VERY FEW problems I have ever had with Groups VBS program is the suggestion for the morning meeting.  Mornings are hectic enough without taking a leader away 5 minutes after they have met them and to play games.  We did try this method for a few years and it was disatorous.  We have modified it over the years and have decided to start the morning meeting 15 minutes before start time and let the kids sit in if needed.  They know that this is the leaders time for devotion and prayer and they are welcome to witness it.

There are so many talented people on this forum, I was hoping someone had saved me some work by researching "powerful" devotions.

Mrs. VL is a little tired from 12 hours of decorating and day 1 of a great VBS!  Pictures posted soon!

Funny, we tried the devotions from the Leader Guide for the first time this year...and they were a great warm up for the day, with a nice devotional message included.  They were activities, but with a message that tied into the day.

I agree, it is hectic!  We had all the volunteers' kids go to the nursery starting at 12:30, then around 12:35 we met in a separate meeting room for 10 minutes.  About half the volunteers made it, but I noticed the ones that hit the first day kept coming back and enjoyed the warm up for the day.  The largest attendees were the high school crew leaders which was great.

Does anyone have Staff Devotions that does an evening VBS format? I've always thought that it would be hard just because of the time that it would be at. I'd love to do the devotions with the staff but I don't know if that's really possible in an evening VBS format. I've cut my VBS schedule to 6:15pm-9:00pm for Crocodile Dock. Would 6:00pm-6:15pm be enough time for the devotion?

God Bless,

Josh T. in Ohio
