Ask your local Christian Book Stores about their bargain bible prices.  They usually have cases for very little money.  The bibles are often paperback, so they're not expensive.  Be sure you purchase the version you want.  Many will be King James Version, and unless that's what you want, ask for some other translation.  There are bargain prices online too, but the shipping is high. You might ask the parents or volunteers to sponsor a bible give-away.  When people know how little money it is, they're usually anxious to give.

God will honor your desire to have each child own their own bible, and His Word will NEVER return void.

Bless you!

For our younger kids we gave out the NIrV (NIV Readers version) which we found for 4.79 at Biblesbythecase.com shipping was free.  They have the regular NIV for under $3 and they have lots of other translations too.  You have to buy them 24 at a time, but we them all away which was fabulous.  The kids who received them treasured them.  One boy asked what the return date was (like a library book) and was amazed that we were giving him a book for free to keep.  We wrote their names and had the crew leaders present them.
