| | I didn't purchase the menorah from Group because I have a friend who is Jewish and was going to loan me a couple for our JM Synagogue. Well, when I went to see her yesterday, she bailed on me. Our JM starts on Monday. Any suggestions? We are so out of time and I'm desperate. Thanks for any suggestions. Evelyn Hury VBS Director FUMC Edinburg, Texas ehury@rgv.rr.com

| | I would think that any candleholder with seven candles would work since menorahs take so many different shapes and sizes. Can you hit someplace like Big Lots or Old Time Pottery looking for one? We did find a brass Hanukkah menorah at OTP once. (Snapped that one right up and it sits on my dresser! LOL) I keep wondering if you also couldn't make a large Menorah using PVC pipes and right angles and then covering the whole thing with heavy tape and painting. They frequently have a very rough surface anyway.

| Thank you so much. The PVC is a great idea. I was prepared to cut one from cardboard and paint it, but I like the PVC idea much better.

| Just made one of these from pvc pipe and it was very easy. Cut it on a miter saw and only took a few minutes. The only thing I would do different is to use a wooden dowel rod for the main pole because the pvc tended to bend a little.

| | You might try a calling a local synagog in your area. In my neighborhood all the christian churches share, maybe they will help too! -sgill
