| | As part of our one day JM event, we will be including a treasure hunt where kids will get a "passport" that they will take through the streets. They will follow clues to find characters that are stationed throughout the area. When they do find a character, they will receive a stamp on their passport. When they have found all 10, they will receive a prize. What I need is ideas for the kind of characters to place around the streets. Without having anything except the shopkeepers guide, I'm not sure what characters to choose. I have had someone ask to be Mary and I will include a beggar. After that I'm at a loss. Any ideas? Thank you!

| Sounds like a fun way to use the material. Be sure to post more of the details when you have them figured out.

| How about a Roman guard, a tax collector, a Rabbi (or priest), the Wise One (who engages the kids and shopkeepers in conversations about the happenings in Jerusalem that week), a leper, Peter and/or other disciples?

| And how about the inconspicuous tanner, silversmith, carpenter, fisherman, perfume maker, candle maker, potter or sandal maker.

| Thank you guys so much. Those are perfect...and so obvious! I just couldn't seem to get my brain to think of them . I will put some of those into place.

| I don't have a treasure hunt, but I always have a mascot (an Eagle puppet this year) hidden inconspicuously every night durign the week of VBS. The first team (group) to spot it and bring it to me gets points. Scores are tallied at the end of the week and the wining group gets a prize. There are other things going on for prizes so everyone gets something. Plus, this year they will all get gold nuggets for participating in different stations and for good behavior. They will use these nuggets to buy stuff at the General Store.
