Day one was fun, and went well in spite of last minute changes and lack of Tribe Leaders. Since we're a small group, I just put all the tribes close together and I taught the traditions with the adults nearby lighting the candles and passing around the mezuzas and spice boxes. It was our preschool day, and their teacher was so pleased that several moms and dads stayed and participated with their kids, even parents that she didn't expect would do that. We also had several more elementary kids than last year.

I'm so tired, but still excited. I've been up late every night, and went shopping after closing last night for food for the feast on Sunday. We're having the marketplace as our morning service, with lunch afterward. I have no idea if I have enough food! I hope our baker makes lots of bread.

So, this really is a prayer request, not just a report...please pray that more families come today and Sunday and that the supplies and the food stretch to fill the need. Thanks!

Praise God! It went really well and was well received by everyone. We had several new families, and some teens showed up, who are going to start coming to the youth group. These are kids that the youth leaders have been praying for for some time now! They also have a little brother who may enroll in the preschool.

Sunday was awesome! We started at 10 am in the sanctuary with the shofar sound, a call to worship, some praise songs. Then, the pastor played the conga drum and said something to the effect of, "Behold! Your King is coming to you, riding on a donkey." Kids and leaders processed in with palm branches to a song called "We Have a King Who Rides a Donkey," (sung to the tune of "What shall we do with the drunken sailor!") played by the praise band. That may have been my favorite part. Between the pastor and myself we recapped the events of the past two days, our gathering leader led the congregation in the marketplace songs, we had Tribe Time and Synagogue School, then everyone went out to the marketplace for about 30 minutes. As we circled up for the final Gathering, our two young actors burst in and summoned us to the empty tomb, where Mary Magdalene was afraid she was going mad again. She delivered a monologue about how she had seen Jesus alive and He told her to go and tell the disciples He was risen. She was afraid they would think she was crazy from grief. "Jesus" made a brief appearance from above the tomb, telling her not to be afraid, for He would be with her always. Mary asked the crowd to help give her courage: if she said, "Christ is Risen," would they say, "He is Risen Indeed!" Everyone played along enthusistically, and Mary was now able to go and share the good news. The crowd could go and do likewise. (If you're interested in the script, PM me and I can email it.) Then we went back to the Gathering and sang "Jesus, Jesus." It was so awesome to see everyone together singing and dancing! Maybe that was my favorite part!

We had plenty of food, and everyone loved it. So many people pitched in to help, that I was able to relax and fellowship most of the time. Our photographer took tons of pics, and will edit down to what will fit on a CD. We'll then make copies of the CD and give away to the families. I'll post some pics as soon as I get them.

Thank you for the prayers. They really worked! God is awesome!
