| | Hi all, I just e-mailed my first set of participant's parents/guardians to let them know that their child is now registered for AVALANCHE RANCH. And to tell them to come by the office & pick up their free stampede cd. My question - I also received the e-mail because my children are registered & the e-mail went to my JUNK MAIL!!! What do you all think....is there a way I can get future registrants to not go to their JUNK MAIL?? Do people out there really check their JUNK MAIL? Blessings to all...Vanessa |

| Different mail filters will handle the same mail differently. You could ask the parents (maybe put it on the registration page) to put the return email in their contacts list. I think that will help it go into their inbox.

| | I hope this gets straightened out soon! I was really looking forward to using this option to remind parents closer to VBS. I don't think many parents will take the time to add group's email to their contact list in order for it to show up in their inbox.

| I doubt they would do it on their own...but if the registration says "Important information" will be sent (etc. etc. etc. --- make it sound urgent) they might. And I doubt all is lost. I have several different email accounts and sometimes the same piece of mail will appear as junk in one but will be in my inbox in another.
I have used email to communicate with parents the last several years, but one problem exists...not everyone gives me an email address and not everyone checks their email regularly. So I also use our church bulletin and school newsletter to communicate. But of course not everyone reads these either. So for a final message, I have started to do one mass mailing just before VBS to get out the important information that I really want to be sure everyone gets.

| | I agree Mindy! Sometimes "information overload" is the only way. You have to hit the parents with email, bulletin, newsletters, mailings, etc.--and maybe (just maybe) they will read 1 of them!!!
