Anyone out there from Minnesota?  (or Fargo, ND or Wahpeton, ND?)

I am from Fergus Falls, MN.  Central Western Minnesota.  1/2 hour East of Breckenridge, MN, 1 hour South of Moorhead, MN, and 1 hour North of Alexandria, MN.

Would love to hear from anyone in Pequot Lakes or the Brainerd Lakes area also.

Have you checked out Hobby Lobby for Avalanche Ranch supplies yet?   I plan on going to Fargo with a friend for a birthday party Saturday eveing.  We may be able to stop at Hobby Lobby to see what they have.

Is there a Michael's in Fargo/Moorhead?

Gotta go  low battery

Hi, I am from Alexandria Evangelical Covenant Church.  I would love to connect and possibly share some ideas or materials.  Our VBS is July 16-20.  Still in the recruiting stage of planning, but also working on other details.  jbarnes@alexandriacovenant.org   320-763-5659

Julie, I am not sure that my e-mail made it through?   I would love to meet and go over VBS plans.   I have most of my key positions filled.  Just received a call that one person will be at a family reunion a few days -  I said no problem, bring the family along to help.  That way I will have enough help.  She doesn't think that is the family's plan thouh (hehehe).

Trinity Lutheran Church is blessed with the best decoration person.  Her side kick is awesome with wood and is working on building a bunk house in our gym.  This year the person who is most excited about this theme is also setting up a ranch theme outside.  I think he will be setting up a corral which we will most likely use for the game station.

This year I have help in advertising and we have gotten a flier out to the Sunday School kids and will send it home next week with the day school kids.

After June 9th, I will work with our craft person to assist her in getting supplies.

Our VBS is July 23 - 27th.  Maybe we can meet sometime in June (I can come to Alexandria) and compare notes?

Heidi or Julie or anyone not much further from Fergus Falls, Minnesota:

Do any of you need Target hats?   I have about 60 that I have been asked to return.  If anyone close by has been trying to get them, I will sell them to you ($1.00 each, no sales tax).  I should be receiving my child size hats from OTC June 18th.  Once I have those in hand, I will be ready to find a home for the ones I have.  Otherwise, I will return them to Target.

Julie,  I can't believe June is over!!!  I suppose I  better get going on my VBS duties.   I don't have long distance on my home phone so need to rely on our cell phone which my husband has - we haven't seen each other much this month - he is on the road during the week and at our other property on weekends.  Some members at church tease me because I don't always know where he is exactly.  I better just get a $5.00 calling card this week to call you?  It would be nice to hear how your VBS is coming along.

I need leaders for two crews and another idea for one night.  I have a "YAHOO FUN" station.  Monday will be a guest speaker letting the kids know what their donations went to last year, one night I will teach about branding where kids can make their own brand symbol, one night will be pony rides, and one night will be a hay ride.  So, one more night to take care of.

We are going to have a square dance group perform during the two sessions of Chuck Wagon on Tuesday.   If I could square dance, I would lead a station on some steps - I just don't know it well enough.

Maybe I have been too relaxed this year?  I have sure been enjoying this forum and getting lots of ideas.     I did help my craft person figure out a Cross weaving project from OTC that didn't come with instructions.  I have also learned a lot about cowboy life through the internet.  Maybe I will do my last night on stuff I learned such as Cowboy Etiquette and Chuck Wagon Etiquette?  I bet I can come up with a presentation that will be fun for the kids?

Anyway, didn't want you to think I had forgotten.

My in-laws live in Breezy Point.  I was hoping you might be able to help me - I am trying to find Lava Lava Island - do you or anyone you know have this?  I would be willing to buy or rent it?  emilyvoeller@msn.com or 515.994.3349 Thanks!  Emily

I'm from Cold Spring, which is real close to St. Cloud. Our VBS is Aug. 6-10th. I'm looking for left over prayer bears if anyone has any. I'm also looking for those Bible buddy stamps. I spent all evening over at the church making decorations. I'm getting excited!

God Bless,

Nancy

We have not done Lava Lava.

We also have no prayer bears - could not afford to do that project.

No stamps either.  We have not purchased anything past the starter kit.

I grew up between Brainerd and Pequot Lakes.  Lived 1/4 mile off 371 near Cinosam Road until 6th grade then moved 2 miles North of Nisswa and lived about 1/4 mile off 371.  I worked as a carhop at the A & W in Nisswa for a few years before it became indoor sitting.  I graduated from Pequot Lakes.
