We are in northern California and my husband has a company in Texas interested in hiring him.  It's near Austin.  Recently he was laid off from his company.  He was hired by another company but it came with a big pay cut which we are struggling with.  He has continued to look for another job.

All our family is here and our kids are quite attached to them (their grandmothers, uncle, and cousins).  They will be extremely sad to seperate from them.  So will we!  It's hard to put a price on all the memories!  At the same time we want to go where God wants us.  It's OUT OF CONTROL expensive up here and homeschooling is very difficult on one income.  Texas is more affordable, and we can have more animals which my animal lover kids will thrive on.

Please partner in prayer with us that God would make it CRYSTAL CLEAR as to His will for our family.  I am willing, (if I must) as long as I know that God wants us there and we are doing what He wants for our family.

Teri, praying for this situation.  The crystal clear part may be a big call; but not for Him.  As you know.

Blessings,

Praying for you also.  (I wouldn't mind another Teri in Texas, though.  )

Hey, yeah!  If we do end up going I'll have to email you with all my thousand questions about Texas!

Thanks for praying!

Teri

If you are moving to TX, the Austin area is the place to be!  We lived in Lockhart for 6 years (about 30 minutes from downtown Austin) and it was wonderful.  Austin reminds me more of CA than anywhere else in TX. It is very laid back (compared to other parts of TX).  We did a church plant while my husband worked in Austin for a large company.

Growing up on the Central Coast of CA, I experienced real culture shock moving to Houston. LOL. We now live between Houston and Galveston. I much prefer Austin!

Will pray everything falls in place for you. Anytime God has moved us to a different location things just fell into place with timing that could only be Gods. When this happens you know without a doubt it is the right thing.

Being a native Texan myself, I do have to say that Austin is an awesome area to be relocated if that is where the Lord leads.  It's a beautiful and fun area with tons of things to do.  Keep us posted on the decision.  I'm praying that God will reveal his plan in a very clear way so you and your family will have no doubts.  You're in my prayers.

Yes, Austin is the area where we are considering moving...whew...glad to hear that is "the place" to be in Texas!  (grin)  The company is located in Buda.

We are going to hear sometime this week...thanks for praying!

Buda is a growing area. Still small enough to be a great place to raise children.  They have a super Wal Mart (not to common in CA), HEB grocery (my favorite), great places to eat and it is close enough to Austin (and even San Antonio) to get anything you need.  PLUS it is minutes from San Marcos - the best outlet shopping there is anywhere.  There is a little store in downtown San Marcos called "Paper Bear."  They have the neatest stuff.  Also there is a neat place to eat. Used to be called "Peppers at the Falls," but Joes Crab Shack bought them out.  It is in an old mill, and you can sit outside - right on the falls.
