| | I am looking for a source for inexpensive horseshoes for a craft project. Can be plastic, metal, wood, etc. Has anyone found a good source for this? We can collect lots of used ones, but hoping to find something less labor intensive than having to clean used shoes. Thanks! |

| The horseshoes on the thriftypeddler site are 3" wide. Is that a normal size? I'm a city-fied girl and I'm only used to seeing the pitched variety of horseshoes and they're bigger. Maybe those come from clydesdales.

| | Rene, 3 inches is on the small size for a real horseshoe. The one that I used for my wind chime craft (there's a photo posted under the wind chime question) is 4 1/4 wide by 4 1/2 long. I have some other horseshoes that are almost five inches wide. It depends on the size of the horse's feet. Depending on what you were going to use the horseshoes for, three inches may be okay.

| Target had plastic horseshoe games up in the $1 section today, priced at $2.50. It included four horseshoes. They could be used for decorations or for a pre/post-VBS party.

| Michelle, do you know the size of the wooden ones from Michael's? The nearest Michael's is 75 mi. so I just wanted to know before driving that far for them. Thanks in advance.

| Thanks Rene! I got the ones from Target. They are great for the wind chime if you spray paint them silver or rust. BTW, I bought a few since I think one or two will do as a nice alternative game.
