I got some journals coming from Ot and they are the foam spiral bond notebooks.  We are going to add stickers to them and then I am thinking what else to jaze them up.   Maybe some twine and a book mark attached to it.

God bless

How about a pencil attached to the twine. Has anyone found a pencil with a horse on it? Or anything western. I looked at the school supply store but did not find one. Joann's has fringe in a couple of colors. That would look cute on the journals.

We have made prayer Journals before...we made them the year with the jungle theme.  We got the small tablets at Walmart they were .25 cents and then we got foam and cut it to fit around the tablet-but just a bit bigger.  We punched holes in the top of the foam and gave each child a pipe cleaner (they were even animal print) they weaved the pipe cleaner through the foam and the spiral part of the tablet--they twirled the end of the pipe cleaner like a curly tail and a pencil fit perfectly!! The kids decorated the front with foam jungle animals and puffy paints.

This year we are making prayer journals again.  We were blessed with some cowboy theme material--It had a nice design of boots hats a saddle and gun holster.  We got thin cardboard cut the size we wanted and paper (all donated by a book binding place).  The kids will cover the card board with the material add the paper and punch holes so it can be put together like the paper bag journals-(we are using rubber bands and pencils).  We are looking for cowboy pencils or either red and blue-so it matches the material.

Blessings,

Jenn in PA
