OTC has sold out of the Wild West self stick foam cutouts.  Any ideas of where to find something similar?   I guess you guys beat me to them!

Also, I am going to order the Bible Buddy stamp set.  They look like they don't have anything to hold onto.  Anybody have a way to attach a handle so little fingers and knuckles will stay out of the stamp pad?

Thanks!

Linda

They have similar ones in Guildcraft book.  www.guildcraftinc.com  Hope this is help.  I ordered some things from them and they seem great.

Good luck,

Linda,

I have made handles for stamps by hot glueing the cap from a plastic drink bottle (like 20 oz or 2L) onto the stamp. It gives the kids something to hold onto so they don't get ink all over their fingertips. Of course it will cover the picture, but you can just look at the stamp side to see which Bible Buddy it is.

Before you go down a different path, you may want to call Oriental Trading and ask them about the item you are looking for.  It seems like they re-stocked out-of-stock items fairly quickly in the past.  I would bet this early in the 'VBS season' they'll get more in.   Good luck!

Guildcraft says theirs are discontinued. They were great! I have one bag that was only going to be enough for one project. But I was in Walmart yesterday and found 3 of those little boxes of foam stickers - these were called "Cowgirl." It included horses, saddles, etc., and only some of it was at all "girly" like pink boots. There're not as big as the Guildcraft ones, but better quality than the OTC ones. About 1" or so. I figure if I seperate the shapes, the boys won't realize they all came out of a box labeled "cowgirl."

Oriental Trading had the foam cutouts last night when I ordered everything I needed for vbs and 4th of July. Our church is located right across from where the city sets off the fireworks and lots of people come down and sit on our lawn to watch. Since that is four days before vbs starts we are going to do registration that night and so I got some craft items that they can make that night to get them excited about Avalanche Ranch.

Craft stores carry those foam stick ons, you would have to check to see if they have what you want. Joann's Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc. I have noticed they are really going all out to get the VBS business this year.

Mardel has some too, since they are a Christian bookstore and supply.

We have Michael's and AC Moore in our area, and it doesn't look like they are pushing the themes like they did last year. In fact, they are putting out Fiesta-related items from last year. I would think that by now they would have had their own western-themed things on display. I don't see things related to the other publishers, either, except for tropical fish, which they have all the time. What they have out for kid's crafts is mostly "princess", dinosaur, and animal stuff.

OTC was out of stock for western foam pieces last night when I called.  They were also out of corkboards, magic scratch boots, and decorate your own notebooks.

My craft person and I are taking a field trip to Fargo next week to check out our options in their craft stores (Hobby Lobby and Michaels).
