| I also wondered about the kids falling on day 3 and getting hurt. Even though we have carpet in our room it is not thickly padded. I wonder if having the kids make walls with paper blocks would be better.although they would have more fun being the wall.LOL Does all the crews form walls or just a couple?-it does mention "other Marchers". Also I found a early morning or evening sky scene setter and a ground scene setter of the Holy land look. Maybe these would work for Day 1, 2 , 4. http://www.partycheap.com/Holy_Night_2_Pack_Room_Setter_p/n674121.htm

Day 3 has been really bugging me. I do not like the pyramid thing because we are on concret floors. I don't want any broken bones. So I'm really stuck and thankful for any ideas that you would share. I did change day 1 to hiding behind a low wall with the spies. I thought it would be a nice touch to have to spies come out and help the kids hide. Then they could tell Rahab how to save herself and her family. I only changed it because last summer we did have two kids that had to go home because of lice. Throwing the laundry over them is not an option. Learned that lesson. So I really like the ideas for day 4 and day 5. thanks for sharing. janna

Merigold (5/20/2007)
Day 5... If you were artistic you could paint a scene of beds and patients on the wall.
Merigold
Merigold, I just had to laugh at that! Yours will probably be the most artistically decorated Bible Adventure room ever.
It's nice to see you on the board again. It made me sad to think of the kids in your area missing out on the spectacular VBSes you and Mtunga have always done. I hope you'll have pictures to share!
By the way, I have missed a lot of posts on this board also. I check it every day, and today was the first time I saw this thread.
I just discovered that when you use the Quote feature, it displays the entire post you are quoting. When you are done referring to it, you can delete the whole thing or leave part of it there. Another option is to open a second browser, so you can view the original post in one and type your reply in the other. A third option would be to copy and paste the post into your word processor and just switch back and forth between windows.

| Kids falling was a big thing with me, I am planning on getting a mattress (or two) for them to fall on. And about the water, I wouldn't worry, kids have good imaginations. Sometimes, ours have overly active imaginations! But, I would use what the book says, except use a light on the OUTSIDE of the water (shining on it) and shut the light off after you have done your stuff with the water so it doesn't start becoming a topic of "Hey, that's not right!" I liked the idea of the ring and the tarp falling for Day 3, sounds fun. I think it will also want more kids to participate. I love seeing everyone elses ideas, I just get so focused on doing it one way, then I come and read these, and see what other amazing things can be done.

| For those of you concerned about lice and the sheets for day 1 Bible adventure. Our pastor's wife suggested using a lice treatment to spray on the sheets between rotations. Sounds good to me. She uses it for her sons sport teams with helmets. Has anyone else come up with ideas for day 2 river and day 3 human ladders?

| OK, here are some pictures!
Day 1, Bonnie being Rahab at the last minute. She did great!
Kids walking in and getting their feet wet! (THEY LOVED THIS!)
The river after it "fell" We found it didn't fall quite as they would have liked so you might want to encourage your HBA leader to play with this ahead of time.
Pictures taken on vacation at Lake Junaluska, NC.

| We have done the walls many times, using cardboard boxes. I usually attach a rope to one of them, and let it hang out just a bit. When it is time to fall, someone pulls the rope and down they come. How about borrowing mats from a gym or school? We keep lysol on hand for disenfecting stuff (cowboy hats, etc.).
