Hi y'all,

This was to be my 3rd year as VBS director at our congregation.  (I have read and used this board often for ideas and kept many of you in my prayers, but have never really posted.)  Well God has other plans this year.  I am pregnant and due the week of VBS (doctors said we could have anymore after 2, so we are ecstatic!!!).  So I was smart and recruited a co-director this year, but she was just going to "help out".  She's always been a crew leader only and so she has no clue what to do really.  I found out last week I have preeclampsia (basically means by body is treating the preg. as a toxin) and have been put on total bed rest and he will probably take the baby (who seems to be totally healthy by all test results- praise God!!!) in the next couple of weeks.  So, now she is basically doing this on her own (I am available by phone, but that's it).  Thankfully, we had the characters almost done and she has since finished the backdrop.  I know she will do great, but I can't imagine being in her shoes with VBS only 3 weeks away!

Please keep us in your prayers.

1.  That VBS will go smooth for her and give her confidence to handle it

2. That our "miracle baby" (aren't they all??) will be healthy and allowed to continue to grow in me as long as possible.  I'm fighting high blood pressure (which I've never had before or during my other 2 preg) but this is all related somewhat to my age the Dr said (I'll be 36 Sunday).  As long as my BP stays under control they won't take him, so I'm on full bedrest and doing absolutely nothing (which that alone is driving me insane).

Thanks for all y'all do for the children of our world

I am praying for you, your baby and your co-director.  My co-director is pregnant with her 5th child and is not due until September...thank goodness!  However, I have given her strick instructions not to overdue herself because the health of that baby is more important than decorations, etc.  Please keep us updated on how you are doing and how the VBS goes.  God Bless!

I have said a prayer on your behalf. May the Lord strengthen you and the baby and may all go well. May He bless and strengthen you Co-director as well. Remember, this is our ministry to the Lord and the kids, but it belongs to Him. I know He will be glorified in everything and your CD will do great! I also prayed that you have a wonderful and very successful VBS! May all those involved be blessed and changed forever, especially the children.

Take heart, HE is in control and will see you all through it. Keep us posted on the baby.

Praying for your co-director, for God's hand to be in it all.  And praying for the health of your new baby. Congratulations!

Thank you everyone who has been praying!   I got new test results back today and numbers all look a LOT better  .   My Dr is very pleased, I'm still on full bedrest, but it looks like I'll get to carry him until the original scheduled c-section date (June 14th).

Also, the "new" director is doing great and feels very peaceful (well as peaceful as you can feel 1 1/2 weeks before VBS) about it all.

Thank you again for keeping us in your prayers!  I continue to remember all of you in my prayers!

Jan

Dear Jan,  I am just reading this now; please know I am Praising God for your good news!  And a Happy belated Birthday!

I am sure your codirector will do a wonderful job, and the kids will miss you; but next year they'll be a new little one in the nursery during VBS!

Blessings,

Donna in NH <><
