| | Does anyone have a source for sponge balls? I was thinking if I couldn't find them I could use regular sponges for the full the bucket relay and then use stones for making the memorial and drop in the bucket games. I do like the way they made the horseshoe games supplies easy to find and used several days. This is the easiest station for supplies. R

| Any store that sells pool toys (which this time of year is just about everywhere...Target, Walmart...even Dollar Tree and other dollar stores...even our supermarkets have pool toys) would have sponge balls.

| Oriental Trading has them for like $5/dozen. Just search Sponge Balls.

| Thanks for the sources for sponge balls. I may still go with another source. I hate spending $10 on a supply although they are used multiple days. All those $10 purchases are adding up!

| I know that every $10 starts to add up, but about 3 years ago my games person gave me a list of supplies she seemed to be using every year. On that list was sponge balls, pool noodles, spray bottles, etc... We just went and bought all those things that year and have been using them ever since. Sometimes we might have to replace some things, but there isn't the worry over borrowing x # of sponge balls/pool noodles/spray bottles from person A and person B. Do you see what I mean? 3 years ago the cost was high, but ever since our game budget has been really low ($20 or less sometimes $0). Hope this helps with your decision

| I agree with Tina. Games uses the same stuff almost every year. We've invested in the items and just replace what needs to be replaced. Games is one of our lowest budget items because of the great resuse each year.

| Thanks for the advice on reusing. I haven't been director for a couple of years and when I was we cut out the games to same time in an evening format. That makes a lot of sense. I guess I need to hit the dollar store!

| The Dollar Tree in our area has them 5 to a pack. They are small but would work well. They, also, have the noodles for a dollar as well.

| | My problem with Games this year is that so much uses water! We are an urban church on busy street with no lawn or parking lot. Games are held in the basement hall which has a tile floor. And a wet tile floor spells disaster! I may just tell the games leader to forget trying to tie in with the Bible point and just play any organized games to let them run off steam! |
