Kids love the water games!!! But I understand your problem. Luckily we have a big lawn and the church sits way back from the street. But we are moving some of the games around or doing alternative games because our closing is on Thursday night and we don't want the kids putting on a show while dripping wet.

We got hula hoops and cowboy hats and stick horses. That will be two games. One you can have the kids throw hats into the rings and the other you throw the rings at the horses. These could be used inside. Another one is make a corral with an opening. Use small balls or balloons (horses) and have the kids be cowboys or girls and use a broom and try to herd them into the corral.

We do the opposite -- any day that doesn't have water, my games leaders find a way to add water!  For example, if they are tossing something in a bucket -- it becomes a wet sponge and the crew leader has to hold the bucket.  (Yes, our poor crew leaders but they come back every year for this punishment!)  So perhaps you could tweak some of them so that they could be done indoors.  If you have a game you need ideas for, post it...maybe one of us can help.

Also -- I totally agree on investing in game supplies.  Several years ago we invested in buckets, sponges, sponge balls, ropes, pool noodles, etc and we don't spend much on games at all now.  Just replacement items for stuff that goes bad or gets lost.

A suggestion for Group would be to provide an alternative if water isn't an option.   They could just provide suggestions on ways to modify the games on the side.   I can have water outside but what if it is storming outside and I need to move them inside?

I just posted that I feel as though the games have too much water as we will be inside. I would love any ideas to modify Group's games...I am just a bit disappointed but I know that things will work out with the games.

After reading the games in detail, I think you don't NEED water on some. I think it was just put in there for the fun factor. Like the one where you put your balls in other crew's buckets. That could be done without the water, especially since sponge balls don't bounce as much as regular balls would.

Just a heads up most dollar trees have had the final shipment of pool toys! Also most stores will be getting another shipment of the 15 pack glow sticks next week.
