| | I am asking my forum family to please take a moment and pray that God will open up someone's heart to do Bible Adventures. Let me explain the situation. Earlier this year this was the one Station I was not sure of who would do it. A young couple I asked finally agreed to take and I was really excited knowing they would take it and run with it. About a month or so ago he called me to tell me some bad news. He is in reserves and his superiors were sending him for training/school for 2 weeks and it happened to be during vbs. That put me in a panic for a little bit, until I thought of people who could possible step in and do it. Well, they turned me down flat! Finally, a new christian at our church said he would do it. I was happy and nervous at the same time-because he's never worked vbs at all. However, that still left day 1 for Rahab for a woman to do. No takers. Then about 3 weeks ago, the gentleman doing BA comes to me and tells me his having surgery on day 4! Now that leaves me with no one to cover day 1, day 4, and day 5 and our vbs starts in 12 days! Needless to say I am trying not to panic--I keep telling the Lord that I'm trusting Him to send the right person along-but with the time so close it's really difficult not to panic!

| | Well this sounds like a "Calling all FL churches to help" situation. LOL Seriously, I am sure you are nervous and waiting on the Lord is hard. I will pray a name comes to you to ask. Have you tried the High School drama group. There might be someone there. Just a thought.

| | How about these little tests of faith God sends us once in a while eh? Theresa I too will pray for you to find someone - or for someone to find you! Our church has been in similar situations before and just when you think you've exhausted all possibilities, HE opens your eyes and the solution pops out at you. God bless.

| Theresa, I just did a search for "Florida" and lo and behold there was a message thread started by you. And there's someone else in Melbourne. Sounds like someone you should meet. | ','165px');" onmouseover="InstantASP_OpenMenuMouseOver('ctl02_ctlTopic_ctlPanelBar_ctlTopicsRepeater_ctl20_smAuthorName','ctl02_ctlTopic_ctlPanelBar_ctlTopicsRepeater_ctl20_smAuthorName_SimpleMenuDivLayer','','165px');">AprilJP | |

| Hey Theresa! I'm in Melbourne, too. Which church are you from? I'm with the Adventist church on 192. Our VBS is sometime mid July (can't remember the dates).

| | I'm praying of you and your church. I understand where you are at. My first year as VBS director I was camping the weekend before VBS started on Monday. Came back early to do decorations on Sunday afternoon and found out one of the girls from our church was seriously injured in a horseback riding accident and was hospitalized 3 hours away. Her step-mother was my crafts leader (and had the manual), her aunt was my Sing&Play leader and her grandma was a crew leader. I went home singing standing on the promises because that was the only thing I could do. God worked it out beautifully though. The Aunt was able to make it back. I was able to replace the crew leader and for crafts I had a person who could do it one night and my sister and niece were coming over that week from out of town and did crafts the rest of the week. The church across the street had done Scuba the week before and given me most of their stuff (but not crafts book) but I was able to call and pick up the craft book too. It also was a wonderful lesson in prayer for our kids. At the beginning of the week they were very worried about the girl and it was very serious. We prayed all during VBS. By Friday she was at VBS (Praise God!). A child who didn't even know her won a door prize for the week and gave it to the injured girl. R

| I just want to thank all of you for your prayers. God put a name in my head of a person more than qulified to do the job. Actually, I had this person signed up as a crew leader. It took me a week to track this person down and I finally talked to her last night. She says she will do it, but there is a hitch. She is a single schoolteacher and she has to get a partime job for the summer. She goes for an interview this Thurs. and she is hoping they will be flexible and let her start the week after vbs. If not, she has to work the week of. Please pray hard that Satan will not get the victory here--he really has tried to work havoc with this station the year.
