I thought other churches had done that before - I am wrong?  I know I have always sent my extra books along with our completed OK2K craft so that they could use them.  Please let me know because I was planning on sending w/out bears AND I didn't buy the books this year.  Thanks!

I sent my blankets last year and I plan on sending my bears this year without the books.  Hope this is OK.               thanks, Judi

Any unused book, I return to group or to where I bought them for a refund.

Last year I sent some of the booklets with the blankets but I missed collecting some from the kids so some blankets went without.

Could you have your children write a little message to a child and tuck that in the pocket. I was thinking instead of putting the heart inside the bear. Have the heart in the pocket with a note saying:
Sending Love from me to you. God Bless!
Then in small print say tuck this heart inside your bear. Its velco so they can open the bear and put the heart inside.

A friends church did not send the bears to kids this year, they collected and sent the prayer bears to soldiers in Iraq.  They only did this because of an experience the director had on a plane trip when she sat by a soldier and gave him a prayer bear to take with him.  He loved it and asked for one to give his buddy that was going through a hard time.  This gave her the idea to send them to the troops.

The International Bible Society has the Survivor's Bible in Spanish and English (not French, though) if you are sending your bears somewhere else!

Yes!

If you're sending them to International Bible Society, just be sure to add a note in the box, explaining that there aren't any books included. That way they won't think something is missing from your shipment.

Thank you Jody for the "official" word on the subject.  Two more nights to go for us!
