Hello VBS Family,

I would like to request prayer for my Church. As far as I can tell, all our Elders have given our Pastor one month to pray to see if problems can be resolved. The problems stem from a "difference in opinion about the direction in our church" Needless to say, gossip is all over, and no one knows what the truth is. Hopefully tomorrow we will find something out. The Elder Board all turned in their notices and are leaving supposedly. I am up to my eyeballs in VBS, and am totally in shock. My church family is being ripped apart. I guess the best word to describe how I feel is I am in mourning.

                  Thank you for your prayers!!

Hi Katie,

I feel your pain. It is really hard on a church and its members. I will keep you in my prayers that God will lead the church in the direction He wants you to go.

(Our family went through this twice once in Florida and once in Ca. you will go through many stages-sadness, mad that it is happening,to a numb feeling.) God is there with you and he will make you stronger. And you will know the direction that is right for the church when you feel at peace in your heart.

Keep focusing on VBS as Jesus said let the little children come to me. Sometimes it takes one thing to bring people back together. Let it be the children.

I can't imagine the sadness, discouragement and disappointment one must feel in a situation like this one. Although it may seem unbelievable that such things can happen to/in a church I am reminded that the true battle is in the spiritual realm. It is a war waged by Satan against ALL believers. His attempt right now is to disrupt what God has planned for you and your church. Perhaps he is even afraid of what can happen as a result of VBS. No doubt this will be a fierce battle and the only way to defeat him is to be obedient to the call God has placed upon your life. Sure you may get knocked down from time to time, but through his Spirit God will enable you to regain strength and continue fighting. He has also given you the most powerful and effective weapon to defend yourself, PRAYER.

I will join the rest of the board who are willing to fight with you against the REAL enemy. I will PRAY! Pray that you receive renewed strength, wisdom and desire to keep on fighting the good fight. Pray that the will of our Commander in Chief, Jesus, will be done no matter what may come. Be strong, be courageous and let us kick the devil's butt by having the BEST VBS ever!

Partnering with parents to "TRAIN" up our children in the way they should go!

I have said many times...the Devil is alive and well...right now, he is taking a stroll through your church. You must ALL be strong and IN PRAYER! He is fearful of what is going on there and that is why he is in your face! I will add you and your church to my prayer list. "Praying without ceasing" Kimberly

Katie,

I will be praying for you..  We just went through the same thing over the holidays.( And so are 2 other churches in our area).  The rumors that were being said and things they were accusing my Pastor and others of-oh my.  The sad thing is these people said they were men/women of God. It was so sad. Seeing people leave.  I work in a grocery store and had people who had not even attend the church in a few years come up to me and question me about our Pastor and telling me what they heard.  I would get so upset..I was thinking how dare they!!  And At times I just wanted to leave the church.  But God said NO-You don't believe the rumor-you know what is true.  I even had one of the couples who told  the rumor get in my face because I told one of the people that what she heard from this lady was a lie!

But I have learned that we aren't just wrestling against flesh and blood..There alot going on out there we don't understand...Our church is ready for revival. I feel God is cleaning out the church so He can move.  There used to be a hinderance in our church.  NOw that those people have left (and sadly they took some good people with them) the hinderance is gone!!  Since God has sent so many new people in to take there place.  It is so wonderful to see God move. In fact today we held our annual Pastor appreciation, we had about 150 people there..Some thought after what we happened we shouldn't do one.  But A big group of us insisted--He needed to know that he is still supported by his congragation-and more so this year then any in the past!!

My advise to you is to pray--pray that God shows you the truth-Don't just believe what everyone says.  And even if it would be true-Ask God what he wants from you-Don't just leave or give up because of it.  Be where God wants you to be and do what he wants!!  I will be praying for you, your church and your VBS!

Blessings,

Jenny in PA
