We're doing a bird feeder for one of the days and connecting it by talking about how God makes us strong like food makes the birds strong. Here's what I have so far... an icing container connected to a small plastic solo plate. Yep... that's it. Help!! The containers do still have lids but I don't know how to have the kids decorate the icing container either around it or on top of it!? Found some small straw cowboy hats but wasn't too impressed... and not probably good for outside. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

In advance spray paint the containers different colors or one color. Put on the cap. Turn cantainer over. The plastic cap is now the base. Remove container and cut an opening in one side of the container to make it look like a bird house. Make hole in top of container. Have kids attach twine (knot)in the hole and add beads to the twine above the opening and then tie off. Have stickers of birds and have the kids add these to the bird houses.

Just an idea.

Just another idea -

Give each child an apple and some peanut butter.  The kids spread peanut butter all over their apple and then roll it in bird seed.   They can put the apple on a small plastic plate that has string attached to hang in a tree.

You can use something instead of an apple such as a pear, a potato, or anything else.
