| | I'm in Greenville, South Carolina and our church is excited to be doing the Avalanche Ranch theme for this year's VBS. Our session isn't until the end of July but as the director, I'm at the busy stage of recruiting workers and getting decorating ideas. I'd love to visit some local churches who might also be doing AR before us so that I can get some ideas. I'd also be willing to buy some of your decorations once you are done with them. Take care, Kimberly |

| | Hi there fellow South Carolinian! Thanks for the reply. Since our VBS is so late this year, I am only in the recruiting stages at this point and it is going well. I love the new on-line toy box and it is making things much easier for me this year in regards to registration and signing up volunteers. I'd love to make it to you church for a VBS session, especially since it's at night. Could you email me the details in regards to your church name, VBS times, general Columbia location, what type of decorations you'll have and what you might charge for them? Did I ask enough questions?? :0) Also, are the decorations big enough that I would need a truck to bring them back to Greenville? I know some churches do things up really big and other don't so I just wanted to get a general idea. I love to do it up big, even though our VBS isn't huge...last year I had 55 helpers and about 80 children. No one at my church really likes to help with the decorating so I thought I'd ask around and maybe get some decor from other churches who are done with theirs. Last year I got two calls about using my decorations when I was done, I got everything all packed up, and the church representatives didn't show!! I guess I can try to donate them for anyone doing Fiesta this year. Let me know the details about your VBS at your convenience. THanks! Kimberly |

| | We absolutely LOVE it here and there is SO much to do and see in Greenville. I never thought that I'd stay in the same place for 17 years but we have and LOVE it!! I'll be praying for God's confirmation on your decisions you'll need to make in regards to a move. That's a big move all the way from NJ!! You'll have to acquire a southern accent you know??!! :0) Kimberly |

| | Kimberly and Rebecca, I am also in Columbia and preparing for VBS June 18-22. I would love to share our buildings, animal sillouettes or other decorations. We have an awesome 5' Avalanche Ranch sign, just like in the picture. It seems such a shame to spend this week painting cardboard and decorating and then throw it all away next week. Ours is also an evening program. Cleanup will begin around 9:00 or so on the 22nd. Sally in Columbia www.newlifeirmo.com

| | Okay SC Folks here's the low down on the AR Hoedown.... First, Thanks Sally for letting us come check out your decorating. Bonnie is thrilled to have your added support with the buildings, fences, etc. We are looking forward to bringing some helping hands and trucks to pickup some of the items on friday for use during our program next week. We will plan to get there about 8:30ish to help with break-down. Bonnie will keep track of what you want returned and if any of it can be lent to another church. Second, Kimberly - our friday celebration is a movie/slide show review of the week and barbecue dinner. after the celebration, we will break down most of the decorations. The timing is to begin break down at 8:30pm Friday, June 29th. If you would like to join us and borrow some decorating items please come.....We are located in NE Columbia...check the website www.neumc.com for a link for directions and the address. I will take pictures of the Setup Saturday and Sunday and send them to you by email so you can begin thinking about what you would like to use in your facilities. Our basic setup is a large 250-350 person multipurpose sanctuary, seperate education building, outdoor gameboard and amphetheatre and courtyard linked to offices, nursery and front lawn. We will host oepning and closing evnets in the sanctuary, preschool movie & bible adventure in reception palor off sanctuary, snacks out of the kitchen/coffee recepteion area, two games sites outside and all other stations in the education building. All of these locations will have decorating, including hallways and outside passageways. We are so blessed to be able to coordinate with others on these and enhance other programs this way. Sally, Bonnie and I discussed getting a jump start next year (dec/jan. timeframe) on coordinating together once we decide on themes and share the decorating prep if possible. God bless all and give a shout if you have questions...... Rebekah Travis CM Coordiantor, NE United Methodist Church children@neumc.com
