Okay, we had the first lesson yesterday! a blast!! everything was so, so great! We did the shaddow theater, what easy and fun was!! But, I couldn't understand one thing and I forgot to ask before, since I notice that during our Training, in the week one, the same snack/activity is suggested for all ages, fine with the LE and UP, but how about the pre-schoolers, I know that we have little, little-ones, but I do not believe that even 3 and 4 years old would understand somebody telling them how to decorate their crown (the snack was a pineaple ring decorate with marshmallow, raisins and fruit snacks - but the point was, your partner should tell you how to decorate your crown, so you need to follow directions - respect). So, why the same activity for all?

| We never have a problem with all groups doing the same snack. That is usually how it is in LIO, with I think one exception. Perhaps if you think of it as each one is telling the other how to do it. Perhaps your could have the small group leader demonstrate first.

| Hi. It's great to hear that your first lesson went well and that the shadow theater was easy. As for the snack, we designed all the snacks to use the same materials to cut down on the number of supplies being used. Sometimes this means kids do the exact same snack if we felt like the lesson was age appropriate for all levels and sometimes they just used the same supplies, but did an entirely different activity. When we tested this lesson with preschoolers, we explained to them that they were basically playing "Simon Says" and each person got a chance to be Simon and tell their partner how many raisins to use or how many marshmallows went on the crown. For your little, little ones, you might have to walk them through this one on one instead of doing this with a partner, but they can still get the concept by listening to the small group leader and respecting them by doing what you ask. I hope that helps. God Bless! Amy Weaver Editor, Living Inside Out
