Imagestation does not seem to be working so I will just post couple of pics until it is.

Sandjohn painted a fabulous horse stable http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2092619224&idx=15 which inspired me to make the cheaters version of it.

I am trying to avoid too much painting this year so I came up with a way to copy the "idea" of Sandjohn's by using foam board, wood grain paper, horse heads printed on the poster function, fake hair and black paint for the door opening.

Please keep in mind that the boards are just leaning against a wall in my work room at this point and that there is another solid wood grained panel that is not shown. Have to name them and make signs for the doors yet to!

Name suggestions welcome!

I was thinking the same thing PJ!

Curly or Curly Locks for the first horse. Is that a wig that you cut to fit?

Love it.

Kathy, They are all really cheap hair pieces. The white and brown horse are Walmart $1.00 26" length pieces and the curls are from Dollar Tree in the girl's toy section.  I just cut them to the length, spread them on duct tape (then put another piece of tape on top and taped it behind.

Kathy, pay no attention to the man behind the PJ curtain.  Great job ... I think that will be doable for me!  When you do poster function are you printing on regular paper and lining them up, using sticker paper/labels, or do you have something that prints out that big?  I've done the 1/2 sheet mailing labels before but it takes me awhile to line them up.

The barns look great I'm thinking this would be great in our Fellowship Hall where we do our food crafts and have dinner.   What is poster board printing????

PJ curtain????

I print on white card stock then cut them out, line them up and glue together. From a distance the piecing together does not really show.  As far as the poster function I used either the 9 sheet (24 X 33") or the 16 sheet (34 X 44") depending on how large I could make the head on the original. The curly hair horse is a bit too small and should have been done on the 16 sheet function but oh well Snagged real pictures from the internet. The heads are mounted on Tuff-R foam board.

The only real problem I had was with the darn Scene Setter doors! No matter what I tried (several methods believe me) to try to affix those things they never go on or stay smooth. That shiny plastic would be better if is was matte or even paper instead.
