Today we tried painting boots and hats for Bible Buddies using acrilic paint. The paint did not cover very well. Some one said we should have used a Kiltz type of prime paint first. Help! What type of paint did you use? Did you prime them first?

We bought spray paint at WalMart for $1 per can. We did have to prime all of the boots and hats first. I think the can of spray primer cost us about $3. That was how they showed the boots and hats on the decorating DVD. Hope that helps!

Corey, I was refering to the stage props with the pair of boot and hat for each bible buddy. We are using real cowboy boots and straw cowboy hats purchased at Target for $1. Sorry I did not explain which boots and hats I was refering to.

Lindsay, Thanks. I did not purchase the video. Today I sprayed the red set. It came out very nice. Thanks again for the tip.
