| | Our VBS is exactly 1 week away. First let me start by telling you that the biggest strike against me is that I am a man. ALL of the best VBS director's I've worked with were females. I think that the love, care, gifts that God has given women make them a natural fit into this type of childrens ministry. I kind of look at my job as setting the stage and providing the tools for everyone to do their jobs. My biggest fear is that I will not have enough staff to fill the needs I have. Then again I am reminded of the passage that states "My God will provide all my needs, according to His riches in glory!" I've asked and begged and pleaded to get others invloved with the set up, but here I am doing just about everything by my self, in every waking hour when I am not working. Please don't take this as complaining. I look at it as reality. My mind is working overtime coming up with ideas and figuring out how to bring them to life. The "Sea of Galilee" is "installed" and I've already started to construct booths, but I still need 4 more. Then getting costumes to all the workers, and building a well, and writing scripts. So much to do, and so little time. I just have to stop and remind myself that this is for God's glory! God has given me this talent, and I need to use it for Him. I need to also have the proper heart attitude! Of course, satan is rearing his ugly head with discouragement, and temptation! But then it reduces me to tears to hear how the people of the church are praying for me! Just knowing that several of our "prayer warriors" are lifting me up in prayer on a daily basis really humbles me! It also sustains me! I think that my biggest prayer at this time is that "I" can just get out of the way next week, and let God take control. We will all give Him the glory for what ever happens! I had really hoped that I could get my house painted this year, as it is in desperate need! I had been looking forward to not being committed to something specific at church for a couple of months BUT... Our church is celebrating our 150 anniversary 2 months after VBS. Guess who they asked to decorate for that? Then of course there is christmas... but don't even get me started thinking about that yet... If your pray, and have an extra minute. You can pray for VBS at The Little White Church in Conklin, New York the week of July 23-27. Please remember the Director, that he does not go screaming into the night! My Goal is to be back here in 2 weeks writing a "God get's the glory list of our VBS. God Bless William Edwards

| | Just put your trust in God and it will all come out right. We just finished our VBS last Friday night. The three weeks before, every time I went to church someone else had a problem. One of my shopkeepers' house burned, so she was out. A tribe leader told me that she didn't have her basket, so I set out to reorder everything and when I took it to her, she said that she had found it. I had given it to her husband. My playground guy thought his dad had thrown away his manual, and on and on. I had vowed early on to not let it get me down and trust God to provide. He did and it was the best VBS that I have directed. Some twenty years or so. Just have faith, and you will be in our prayers. I also feel that if I don't do it, it won't get done, but this year I turned the food over to someone else and it was great. |

| | Well everyone, it is less than 2 days before our VBS starts! It hit me 2 days ago at work when everyone but me in my department called in sick besides me and the boss that it is right around the corner! I had to do everyone elses work (and my own) because the boss had "his" own work to do. Anyway, we just got home from Church decorating. I have 6 of my 8 booths built. I just have to move table into the booths. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the last 2 booths. Anyway... I actually feel better tonight about things because my marketplace is beginning to look like a marketplace. 2 praises today are, my Pastor called and told me that he finally got 2 vans lined up for transportation. That is real good because I sent out fliers a week ago that advertised that we had van transportation. Proof that God has a sense of humor. The other praise is for my wife. For her patience with me, and all her work coming up with costumes for between 20-30 people. She also spent time tonight putting rod pockets in material tonight so I can hang them from the ceiling so they look like tents. Thanks for sharing all your idea's on this forum. You all have been a great support with your ideas. God bless. Bill Edwards
