| | A few years ago I wrote a Christmas program and incorporated traditional and favorite music. "Lord, I Lift Your Name On High", one of our kid's favorite, was a highligted song. We had gone for years and years following music of new Christmas programs that it was refreashing to hear some traditional songs in the kid's program and fun for the kids to sing a favorite song. We also sang the Little Drummer Boy. I had lots of compliments on the program. However, I think it was most enjoyable because of our awesome decorations person. She made the most beautiful costumes for the wisemen, shepherds, ect. We also had the wisemen's servents. Silent Night, We Three Kings, Little Town of Bethlehem, ect. Look through your congregational song book for ideas. Otherwise, let us know what your theme will be. That will help give more appropriate suggestions.

| I have written the play... waiting on approval from minister... associate minister approved... kids wanting to do something different ... set in a sunday school class room with kids talking... scene 2 moves to a military base in a foreign land... couple of soldiers talking about brother practicing the Christmas program for church and how special it is...
Scene 3 the kids talk about getting a letter from his brother overseas and that he was home sick.
Scene 4 they are packing boxes to send and singing christmas carols
scene 5 the start of the "Program teacher introduces the kids etc...
Scene 6 the military base again and they are talking about the boxes and getting a tape of the christmas program that they are going to watch... scene 7 the kids are behind a frame like a huge tv... with the military guys watching the "tv" the kids sing the songs... then the nativity story is read at this point we have our little preschool (this is something we have done in the past and it is adorable... no speaking parts and they don't really sing much and get antsy during the program so at the very end our preschool is the nativity scene... |

| Eva, that was beautiful. From me? Not so much. Groupie Doreen is one that comes to mind. She has VBS next week (?) I think, she has been a little MIA. I am looking forward to all the suggestions too, to bring to the Praise Team. Thanks! Blessings,

| Wow! What a great program! The only song I could think of while reading your outline was "I'm in the Lord's Army". Those school kids are part of God's Army and are reaching out to the brother's army. (Maybe can be used when the teacher introduces the kids?)

| I think I have decided on the songs... I have in my many cds kids christmas sing a long and it has a lot of traditional christmas carols.
One of the songs I want to use is called the friendly beasts.
My thought here is to have some of the smaller children come out dressed as the donkey, the cow, the sheep, and the dove... but i am having no luck finding patterns for the costumes.
This part would be close to the end of the program
right before the nativity scene. which is when our preschool joins in... most of them are really shy and won't sing... and it is adorable to have the preschool being mary joseph, angels shepards and wise men.
