On Parent's night, i had some parents ask me if they could have a dvd of all the Spotlight Dramas (for AR). I said no because of Copyright issues. Could Group make it possible for church's to copy the dramas and give them to parents? That would be awesome!!

If that doesn't work for Spotlight Drama, you can always have someone videotape your VBS and create a DVD for the parents to have. I'm doing a picture CD with all the pictures of VBS that the parents can have after VBS.

I do believe that the final word was that we COULD make copies of the Spotlight Drama for our own churches, but I'll check on that one.

I thought we already had confirmation that we COULD give copies of our Spotlight Dramas to parents... see this thread in AR's forums:

Oh Peggy! That would be awesome, because we had the same requests....

That spotlight drama was a hit!

And Josh, we do make a DVD of all the kids at VBS but the Spotlight Drama is something very different and special. We had people ask specifically if they would be included on the DVD of the week.

Mindy,

Okay. Our church did Avalanche Ranch as a Park VBS this year and we didn't have the abilities to do Spotlight Drama. I'm glad to hear though that it was such a success!

This might be helpful for anyone who wants to actually burn a DVD that people can use at home.  OH and the software that it references (Snag it) has a free 30 day trial, but I have no idea if that's the full version or not.  But at $39.95, that's a great deal if your church does much PP stuff!

Thanks for that link, Peggy! I had a very tech-savvy teen helping me with the PowerPoint part of the Spotlight Drama this year, and he did convert each day into a file that was recorded & playable on DVDs... but I wasn't really happy with the final quality of the DVD versions. I'm going to put this info in my folder for next year, and make sure we figure out a better way to do it.
