THey mentioned AR on the noon news (NBC ) and it is in the paper. Can't get to all of the article. Of course. someone had to find a negative slant, but oh well.

Funny how our churches have been using this program for years and not even a a blip on the radar...

UGH! Reporters!

Sure Group makes it easy, that's why we love it. But INSTANT? Hardly. If these guys knew what went into running VBS, they might show more respect. I hope that paper gets tons of letters and emails. It's a shame they didn't listen to the message.

Pretty ironic that a newspaper that likely subscribes to the Associated Press News Service would be concerned about religion becoming too homogenized!

Glad you got featured, though!  As the only saying goes "The only bad press is no press!"

I found the whole article here:

http://www.tbo.com/news/nationworld/MGBYOBDUH4F.html

IMHO I didn't think the entire article was as bad as some of the front page blurbs made it sound. And, like Peggy said, the only bad press is no press.

I too did an online search and read the entire article. I then sent a letter to the editor. I suggested that the writer of the article follow a church through an entire VBS process, from the first planning session until after the closing session (when the decor is removed) to get an accurate feel for what VBS is all about (and how much work it is).

I about lost it .  No preparation the volunteers just come for the week.  Each day is preparing for the next day . months of getting volunteers preparing lessons and crafts. Deciding on how the snacks should go . Boy they don't have all the right facts.  Its a wild ride.   Its more than just putting kits together as well. its reaching out in a special way that the kids do't forget. The kits for vbs have been around for years.

God bless
